Martin Furniture Southampton 2-Drawer Lateral File Cabinet - Fully Assembled

This is a beautiful piece of furniture. It looks great in my office. It came fully assembled and well packaged. The top drawer locks which is great for those items that need to be secure. It is heavy (I needed some muscle assistance to get it up the stairs), but that means it is solidly constructed. Although a bit pricey compared to others, I feel it was a great purchase.

... wish they would have been more descriptive as to the type and color of wood on this lateral file. I bought this to go with my Kathy Ireland by Martin Southampton Office Desk thinking it would be a perfect match. I bought my desk from a local furniture store where I had my eye on this lateral file to go with it. By the time I saved enough money up to purchase it, the store had discontinued it. I was thrilled to find it on Amazon. When it arrived, however, the wood on top of the file does not match the desk I have. The wood on the desk is dark red cherry while the wood on the drawer file is a light maple. Also, the top drawer on the file does not close all the way. I'm guessing something happened during transit b/c it seems a bit 'off kilter'. It simply doesn't stay shut. These two issues are unfortunate, but I will keep it b/c I don't want the burden of exchanging it... it is a heavy piece... I am 5'2 115lbs and I had to help the delivery man lift it up 2 flights of stairs into my house. Anyhow, the thought of sending it back makes me weary. This being said, it is a very solid piece and does look good in my office. Just wish the colors of wood matched.. and that the top drawer would shut right! Very modern and stylish though.

This product was coming apart right from the box. The box was damaged, the product was damaged and once we opened it we could tell it was very poor quality

I love the cabinet, it matches my bedroom set completely!! I have a bedroom office combo. However, I have had trouble getting the rods inside to stay where they are supposed to stay to hold up the files. Very frustrating when it comes apart and dumps files inside the drawer.

This is a really nice, substantial piece of furniture. Quite heavy. The drawers glide smoothly. Very pleased with this purchase. I needed a file cabinet but didn't want anything that looked like a file cabinet. This piece goes perfectly in the room with other furniture.

Very nice piece of furniture, solidly made with nice finish and drawers open smoothly. One of the corner trim pieces fell off during shipping but I glued it back on.

just got it, box was torn up, slight damage, it is the WRONG SIZE, WAS SUPPOSED TO BE 24.5 INCHES HIGH, AND IT IS 30 INCHES HIGH

This filing cabinet goes in my office. It looks great and feels well constructed. Aside from it being a tad pricey, have no complaints.
