What is the difference between Pentek 158116 and 158117? Both on Amazon, about same price.

I believe the difference is that Pentek #158117 has a pressure release button at the top whereas 158116 does not.

What size diameter is the rubber o-ring (for the clear plastic housing, not the filters)?

The specification says " filter cartridge size (h x w) (sold separately) = 5 x 2-1/2 inches (127 x 63.5 mm)", is this an error?

What you read in the specifications ( 5 x 2-1/2 inches (127 x 63.5 mm) is a mistake. As is indicated in other areas of the advertisement the cartridge holds 10" x 2.5" filters. Here is the filter I use in mine, google it watts FPMB1-978. Good luck.
