Strong and powerful

There is one con which is that the foldaway reamer is useless unless you're working with very small pipe. I'm cutting 1 inch pipe and trying to use the reamer with it wasn't any better than trying to clean the inside of a 1 inch pipe with a toothpick. The good thing is as a cutter it's great. I wasn't sure it would be since there is a little play in the cutting wheel but it cut through 1/8 inch wall on 1 inch speedrail pipe in no time with a very clean cut. Another pro is that it comes with a second cutting wheel stored inside the top of the knob.

I do not want pvc piping under my kitchen sink. So I tried hacksawing my metal pipes to fit. Not fun. In fact, I bent one holding it in a vice grip. Until I found this thing. Buy it. Put your pipe in, screw it flush against the pipe from the bottom and turn your pipe until it begins to cut into the metal. Keep turning, it will eventually cut through- evenly and smoothly- until you have a pipe of the length you need. Excellent.

When ever I’m cutting copper piping this is my go to cutter. It will only do up to 1-1/4” copper pipe. I use it everyday if I’m installing a boiler or running copper tubing for gas lines. I love the quick release and the slide to quickly close the gap when I am cutting pipe. As we all know time is money. A few second saved on a job site not having to keep spinning the handle to close the gap adds up fast when your using it all day and everyday on different piping and tubing sizes. So why haven’t you bought one yet?

Works great for everything

Great product. Used to cut a lot of 1/2” copper pipe. Saved my wrist a lot of work. Biggest nuisance was an unsteady track when repeating cuts. For example, when you cinch the blade towards the pipe, it tends to wobble a bit. Sometimes I’d have to screw and unscrew the knob a few times to get the blade centered.

Tough, durable and easy to use. Very affordable.

What can you say it's a RIDGID Awsome as always.

A good pipe cutter, very accurate and cuts to the line without taking more off than expected. Easy to use ratchet handle and slides out quickly with a press of the toggle. The deburring knife is also sharp and easy to use. But the pipe cutter it is fairly chunky and heavy, making small pipe cuts a bit difficult. The only other problem is the slight wobbliness of the ratchet handle which needs adjusting when lining the mark to cut on the copper pipe. This can be a problem if accuracy is needed to the millimeter and it could sometimes cause threading when incorrectly positioned at an angle due to the slight wobbly nature of the ratchet handle.
