Can it hold the usual amount of home work of a high schooler

Yes! I use this backpack to carry college textbooks, notebooks, and my lap top (15 inch) with tons of room to spare. I also carry a tablet, coloring books and a marker case because I work nights and needed room for both at work. It carries additional cords, extension cord, ear buds and other accessories to go along with all of the above. My pack weighs about 35 lbs to lift but is light and well balanced on my back. I still have plenty of room to add a sweatshirt. The pack seems to hold up well to the weight and amount of items.

Is this water resistant?

All i can say is that I've carried in the rain and no water seeped into my bag or on my papers.. Hope this is helpful!

How durable is the bottom?

The bottom is well made and seems durable. I currently have it loaded with my laptop, text books, notebooks, binder, coffee creamer, and all of the paraphernalia I normally have in my purse. So, it weighs probably thirty pounds and shows no signs of stress at the seams/bottom. Hope this helps!

Is it water-resistant? How well does it hold up in the rain?

I've had some pretty good rains to walk through so far, and nothing inside gets wet. The tech zipper has a cover over it for extra protection. I've been impressed with it thus far!
