Panasonic DVD-S500P-K All Multi Region Code Zone Free PAL/NTSC DVD Player

For decades, there have been certain movies or TV series that I wanted to have on DVD, but have not been released in the U.S. I kept thinking they would be, eventually, since all the ones I had my eye on were shows and films I'd seen when younger, in this country, and were in fact very popular. But the powers to be over here continued to ignore them. Finally, I decided that I would have to get a region free DVD player. The most important thing was, quite simply, that it would work! Would it really play DVDs from different regions without issues? This one does. The picture and sound quality is impressive; it immediately locks in on whatever disc I insert and plays without any delay, struggle, skipping, freezing, pixilation, etc. It's a smooth and enjoyable experience. Second, it was a snap to install; as any DVD player should be but some are not. Third, the price was great! I wish I hadn't waited so long!

Other reviewers wrote mixed & confusing comments for this unit. I am specifically talking about the Panasonic 'S500P-K'. No need to 'program' this. It plays all these formats -- right out of the box! There are ONLY 'RCA' type jacks on the back. 1 Video & 2 Left & Right Audio. 10 watts. Small compared to the older units of the last decade, but basic, which I personally like. This does not play Blu-Ray, but there are other players at great prices out there now that do. An excellent little player unit. I bought 2 because of the great price!

Budget unlocked dvd player. I bought it to replace a player I purchased over a decade ago while living overseas. My dvd collection consists of region 1 and region 2 and I needed it for the region 2 disks. So far I haven't run into any issues with any of the disks I have watched with it. Those are the only 2 regions I've tried but have no reasons to think it wouldn't work with others. Just in case someone reads this and didn't notice in the item description - this does not have an HDMI connector. Make sure that whatever you're plugging it into (TV, AV center, etc.) accepts composite connections instead. Either that or grab a budget composite to HDMI converters when you purchase this.

I live in the US, and needed a DVD player that was not a lot of money, but would play a region 2 DVD. This DVD player not only plays region 2, but all regions. You don't need to reset any region codes, you just put a DVD, from any region, in and it will play. It is a foreign DVD player, and uses an adapter for the electrical outlet, but that is also included. This means you could use this DVD player for any AC or DC outlet. We have used this DVD player everyday for the last 2 months with no problems. I don't do Netflix, cable, or anything else like that. We watch pbs kids or DVDs that we feel are appropriate for the kids, myself and my husband included, so our DVD players get an extreme amount of use. I am very happy with this purchase, and actually plan on buying some for the rest of the house, when the monies permit.

I purchased this product so I could watch DVDs from Europe, the U.S.A. and Japan on one machine. Someone slapped a sticker on the box which says "Region Free" and that's how it appears in the listings, but the machine itself is marked only for Region 2. I tried DVDs from different regions, and NONE OF THEM PLAYED! All I got was grayscale fuzz on the TV or the machine would say it was playing and then would randomly stop (showed stop icon on TV) without explanation. The only buttons on the machine are "eject" and "play/pause", and only the eject button worked. Had to use remote to control machine, so if you lose/damage it, you'll be in deep doo-doo. Package had Arabic characters on it, so I guess this is the junk they sell to the working class in the Middle East... feeling some empathy with my fellow laborers as it looks like some electronics companies screw poor people all over the planet.

Truly plug and play. I did not bother to read the instructions. I bought this DVD player to replace the faltering built in DVD player on my 30 year old analog tv. So far, I have watched dvds from Japan, Brazil, Australia, UK and USA with no problems. No adjustment is required when changing region. The picture quality is substantially better than the faltering built-in dvd player it is replacing. I was so pleased in my first week that I ordered another which I connected to my newer flat screen television. This item is a great bargain for the price, multi-region attribute and superb picture quality. I will probably buy one more as a 'gift' so I can watch my other region dvds when frequently visiting my relative. The remote is small, but key buttons are intuitive.

This is the best DVD player I've ever owned. It really does play all the DVDs just like it advertised. It's very easy to use, very quiet operation and comes with everything you need to set it up and start using it. I have absolutely nothing bad to say about it.

A snap to hook up and very simple to use. It automatically selects the region of the dvd and, although all I have is regions 1 & 2, it plays them both just fine. Exactly what I wanted and at a pretty good price.

I purchased this Multi Region DVD player on 30 July 2018. Less than one year later it's stopped working. Simply doesn't play any DVD anymore.

BuA true all zone DVD player.Very easy to operate. But I bought it from Amazon previously too excellent product previously lasted for atleast 4years but the last time the product was not functioning as it should,it stopped working this evening so had to order another on Amazon,so fault is not with the product but with the seller I feel,so went on for another similer product reading users reviews. So I give the seller one star. My previous buy of the same product was from another seller,he was excellent five star seller ! But this time when I bought he didn't have it so took what was available on Amazon Product is good,no fault of Amazon but the seller this time,no comment Product I've used before it lasted more rtan 4 years but this time,I had to order another after 4onths Now you judge
