Fiberglasss fire blankets are an inexpensive, easy-to-use and reuse, and very effective way to put out small fires. This blanket measures about 39”x39”, which is a good size to keep in the kitchen or garage. It comes in a bright red nylon pouch with pull tabs to quickly remove and deploy the fire blanket. I like that the front side of the nylon pouch has a 3-step set of instructions on it, which is better than some other brands of these types of blankets where the instructions are printed on the back of the pouch. At any rate, I’ve asked everyone in my house to become familiar with the location of the fire blankets in my home and how to use them. The pouch has a metal grommet to use as a hanger and I hang one inside one of my kitchen cabinet doors about 3 paces away from the stove. The blanket, as mentioned previously, is made of fiberglass. Rubbing my fingers over the blanket, I do see that a very small amount of fiber particles can come off onto your hand, but it’s not much. And that was with me intentionally rubbing the material with my fingers, which you wouldn’t do to use it on a fire. Some of the fire blankets for sale come with gloves to protect your hands from fibers and I’d say skip it: I think the time it takes to put on gloves gives a small fire a chance to flare up into something too big for a fire blanket, so getting the blanket onto the fire quickly should be the priority. I’ve purchased three of these types of blankets from different sellers and they all seem to be similar in construction and quality so, here on desertcart, find one with the best price and you’re likely to be fine. This blanket is a good one to buy and the price was right at the time I ordered it. Whichever brand you choose, a fire blanket should be part of every home’s or office’s safety gear.

**Q: How does a fire blanket get contaminated?**
A: Your blanket should be stored away from the stove where grease can contaminate the blanket. Be careful also on the location you don’t want to have to reach over it to put out the flame. We store on on the right side if the sink with the stove to the left.

**Q: This can be used on people?**
A: From what I've learned this may protect your body from flames but not your lungs from breathing in toxic fumes. Fire also feeds off oxygen so one would need a mask and a quick escape route to truly escape it.

**Q: How many pair of gloves are included with the two blanket pack?**
A: There’s a pair in each blacker four gloves total … a right and a left glove… the gloves are a white light weight woven material with anti slip surface. I have not used the blankets myself yet. I volunteered for the American Red Cross. The sizes of the blankets differ. The gloves can be worn to protect your hands. But they are light weight so I would not suggest them as oven mitts. I have not had need for the blankets yet. But you can also use one of these blankets to wrap around yourself in a fire.

**Q: if you cover an euc (electric unicicycle)during battery charging, can it prevent fire expansion?**
