Solid K&N filter. The small hole at the end is for a filter minder. K&N filter minder part number (sold on Amazon) K&N 85-2445 Filter Minder; Push in I suppose you can cover the hole with a bold and washer, or anything else that you don't want sucked into the turbo. All in all, a nice add on for 5.9 Cummins

Perfect fit for my 99 Ram 2500 Cummins
Had to get a 4" aluminum pipe (bought a spectre that was recommended on the page) to connect to my factory intake and made a small bracket to go over the stud on the filter. I used some self tapping screws to fix the bracket to the fender. Filter fit great, the factory filter minder fit in the end of the filter perfectly. Now I have all of the turbo noises lol. Price was hard to beat!

Installed in 2001 F53 Motorhome with success
Install directly on factory rubber duct outer end, same size just have clamped it. Used epoxy to close center hole. Discarded factory hosing and filter may cause water suction in the rain or wet driving in intake due to its location. AFS sensor need to be reposition from factory housing to outer end of intake hose.
