i just received this, three of them actually, and remembered what i had learned the medium-hard way: shock doctor is shockingly ineffective. using their method and fitting the guards isn't easy. i know i am doing it correctly, the simple point here is that the whole piece itself is less than potato chip thin. once softened by hot water, the upper side begins to melt into the rest of the guard, and by the time you have pulled it into position to fit, you have to start over. and over. and over. overall, it stays in one piece and can be reheated and refitted. sort of. the material, though malleable, is so thin and week that they simply will not hold up to the shape you desire, and it is instantly clear that they are not going to provide much if any real protection. i have used mouth guards for decades, from soccer to judo, and can tell you that these just don't measure up in size, weight, durability or any way really to even the cheapest, dual or triple density, guards you would find at a discount super store for $3 or less. and at $10 each, these are sure to disappoint. at maybe $2000 per lost or cracked tooth, and i am being quite generous in that guestimation, that is not the hard way you want to find out. seriously, and i am completely serious, a stick of gum, fresh enough to bend without breaking, will provide the same if not better protection for what, 10 cents. and i am not exaggerating. i urge you to not find this out for yourself. these are the 5th through 8th i have purchased, but never again. i am keeping the packaging to remind me next time i order mouth guards. do not risk it, either on yourself nor on your kids. life is too short, and better ones at less cost are out there.

First off.. I had this mouthguard for about 15 minutes of playing time until I took a ball being kicked inbounds directly into my face! This is in a competitive indoor adult league with some serious players, so it was like I took a full speed punch. I ended up in the emergency room with a serious concussion and thankfully all my teeth. I got hit so hard they thought my cheek my have a break and my neck was injured from the whiplash. I had 3 cat scans due to the severity of the facial injury. I can't say if I'd actually had lost any teeth, but I was extremely glad that I had this in even if it helped a little. I can fully say it helped my jaw stay in place and my teeth not clamp down on something other than the guard. It definitely gave me some big time piece of mind after the ER visit and of course on the field. (I started wearing one because of being hit in the face a couple years ago from a swinging hand to the face that resulted in months of teeth pain, which has now subsided.) I had a previous "soccer" mouthguard from Shock Doctor that was larger and held up pretty well. I needed a new one after a couple years and went with this model. I had no issues with the fitment at all. I boiled a cup of water in the microwave, dropped in the mouthguard for 12 seconds, took it out and formed it to my top teeth. Pushed it up with my tongue and then rinsed under cold water.. easy as that. Perfect fit for only $6.. I can't complain. If you're doing that part wrong it's seriously user error and not the mouthguard. For anyone who plays soccer.. this was easy to use and comfortable. I could talk much better than the previous soccer version and it is nice it's black vs. white also like the soccer version SD makes. Don't worry about looking dumb on the field.. do you know who looks silly? People missing a bunch of teeth who were too cool.. do yourself a favor and get one. I hope this review helps, I rarely write them. I just wanted to share a unique real world experience. This is not a sponsored or paid for post by the way... Only my honest thoughts and opinions. Buen material, cómodo y a bien precio.

Nonostante abbia seguito la procedura per condizionare il prodotto (per due volte) questo non prende la forma dell'arcata superiore dei denti, e ricade inevitabilmente sui denti inferiori.

Muy buen material ys e ve duradero el plástico esta muy cómodo, recomendaciones al usar: calienta agua primero que este hirviendo, luego colocar la pieza en el agua (no se pegara, no te quema la boca no te preocupes) pero solo 10 u 11 segundos por que el plástico se pondrá aguado/suave (no mas tiempo por que se hará mas chico y dependerá de tu tamaño de boca) luego introduce en tu boca (no te quemara) y muerde fuerte para que el plástico suave se amolde a tu boca, espera unos 30segundos o mas hasta que se enfríe el plástico y listo quedara amoldado a tus dientes. Después corta los sobrantes para que no lastime tu paladar, corta a como sea cómodo para tu uso. Lo use para dormir también, solo si es grande por el tema que sufro de Bruxismo, no es tan cómodo para dormir por que si es grande para prevenir impactos.
