No need to do long runs of XLR, just a nice simple Cat5, even for really short runs makes it nice and clean instead of a bunch of XLR's.

When you need to get multiple mics from point A to point B and you don't want to string 100' of multiple feet of cable but one little ol' Cat 5 these things are GREAT!!!
