We Totally Love This New Version,But What's Up With All The Price Increases?
My son was looking for the game of Clue, and before he even finished checking the different versions, the price[which he wrote down]went up! Then before I could decide whether to get this one or the Classic edition, it went up again! I believe it has gone up twice more since I ordered ours! WTH is up with that????? We paid $21.95 for ours and with shipping it was a ludicrous $27+,which I would not even have considered paying if I hadn't gotten a gift card! Definitely look for a lower price, and be very careful about checking the features,as each edition of Clue, out there is different! We really like the new feature of the Intrigue cards. They bring a new element to the game. Also like the new rooms and weapons. We are very happy with it,and it is great to have a good board game to play, now if they bring back a durable Aggravation game, not priced ridiculously high.

A favorite game
There are only a few games that stand the test of time...Monopoly, Life, Sorry, Clue, and a few others. These ageless games allow you to play them over and over and never get bored with them. Newer games come out and may be enjoyable initially, but then they disappear. There is a reason the classic games hang on. THEY ARE THE BEST. And, Clue is one of those "BEST GAMES". It also has the benefit of allowing you to learn to get better as you play more...to think of different strategies and ways to read your opponents. Just about the best game ever.

a little too soap operish and needlessly complicated
Read the bios for the characters of CLUE...this version is for age 9 on up. The bios for the characters are not really suitable for a 9 year old. All of it sounds like a soap opera, everyone has an alterior motive that sounds like stuff from the tabloids. It doesn't add to the game at all either unless the people playing are into all that drama stuff. It certainly isn't healthy for a 9 year old to be encouraged to think about such things. The good part of this game is that you can forget about the new category of cards and rules they added to this format and play good old fashioned CLUE if you want. Some interesting new weapons too. The bad news is that the other new additions of cards to use and ways that someone else can die during the game really is not that exciting. This game is ideal for teenagers who still love a good board game but maybe have been bored with traditional clue.

Not the Clue from your childhood!
I remember Clue from my childhood, and wanted to make memories of playing the game with my own kid, so I bought the game for Christmas. I expected to introduce another generation to the joy of discovering that the culprit was Colonel Mustard with the rope in the drawing room. Boy, was I in for a shock! The game, presumably, has been updated for the generation growing up with trashy gossip of starlets and overpaid athletes. Every character has overgone a makeover, and now are actors, athletes, etc. Instead of a stately manor, the crime takes place in some sort of nouveau riche Hollywoodesque mansion. So, instead of an Agatha Christie type mystery, you get something that seems ripped from an episode of "True Hollywood Story" on E! network. So, if you were looking for the Clue game from your childhood, keep searching and pass this one by!

Overall fun to play but the new time clock cards are frustrating
The best part of the updated version is that you no longer have to be in the room you are including in your accusation to make an accusation. Instead, you make an accusation from the pool that is located in the center of the game board to finish the game. The worst part of this updated version is that they include intrigue cards that you must draw from when you roll or land on a question mark. This is ok and adds an interesting twist to the game however, in the card pile are 8 time cards. When the 8th time card is drawn, the person who draws it dies so they are automatically out of the game and have to show all of their cards to everyone else. This is very very frustrating if you die after you have already figured out the who, what and where and are just trying to roll to get to the pool.

This is the new version of a classic game
My 9.5 yr old granddaughter requested it. This grandma loves board games involving human interaction face to face vs electronics -- so I was thrilled. She and her sisters and friends LOVE it, as do the adults in the family. I did warn her to keep the small parts together (zip lock helpful) and keep sharpened pencils in the box for process of elimination. This is a great game for families--the kind that makes you think, use process of elimination and thinking at several planes at once. While her 7 year old sister can play, she tires of it first. Keep the parts together and you have an endless ever changing game to play! Love it

Updated version; lots of fun
We played Clue as kids, and found that this updated version (with some different rooms and weapons and a couple new rules), really freshened the game up. We bought the game as a gift for our 9YO. I thought it would be too complicated, but as we played through a game, she caught on, as well as her 10YO friend. The rules seemed a little overwhelming, but as we started playing it all fell together, especially since we had the rule sheet on the table to refer to. In the next 24 hours, the kids played it two more times. We have a million games in our house, and this immediately became a favorite.
