I love using them , when I make pea soup ! ( just rinse them off with water before you use them)

I love these in my chili...yes, meat and beans = my chili. I wash them and soak them over night then rinse them several times and boil them. Yum!

Bean soup was a hit with this bean mixture

There are a LOT of different kinds of beans in this mix (1 more than in a competing brand I've purchased at the supermarket). There is no seasoning packet included with this bean mix; however, this increases its versatility, as one can use whatever type of seasoning or broth one desires. I soak these beans overnight in cold water (although there are no-soak recipes for "15/16-bean soup" online), then prepare them as a soup in my slow cooker (using a slow-cooker recipe for "that other brand" of bean mix). You can go either vegetarian (with vegetable broth) or meat-based with this bean soup (I usually add chicken broth + either browned/crumbled hamburger or a large can of chicken); just remember to hold off on acidic ingredients (f.ex., tomatoes or lemon juice) until the last 1/2-1 hour of cooking time, so the beans will soften sufficiently. There are plenty of stovetop, slow cooker & pressure cooker recipes for using this bean mix (some of them on the Goya website; more elsewhere via a Google search online). Not a quick meal to prepare, but mostly hands-off (if using a slow cooker or pressure cooker recipe), and very hearty! Recommended.
