Review: SO GORGEOUS! - An instant connection for when when I took the box out of the shipping box! I loved that the box holding the cards was hinged and cut at an angle that shows a line of black beyond! There's a velvet lines pocket where your deck sits in with a little ribbon tab for ease of getting them out of the pocket. Aesthetically this deck is so beautiful! Sophisticated, classy, simple yet extra a.f. just like me! (haha) ... I was afraid the images would be difficult to read with only black and gold. I was afraid the shiny gold would produce a lot of glare and make it hard to see the artwork HOWEVER... I was pleasantly surprised to find that the artwork is very clear and crisp. You can make out the nuanced detail of the figures and their facial expressions as you would in the original artwork. I'm about to sound like the crab in Moana... These cards are wonderfully shiny! The images I attached can't really capture the majesty and beauty of these cards. I'm in love with them. They aren't really thick, but I think the gold leaf/gold foil gives them a little bit of extra strength. They shuffle REALLY well. I think that has the do with the smooth shiny gold leafing on one side and the textured backing. They slide nicely past each other and don't stick together. I could see potential glare issues if they're under direct light. I just bought this deck so I am curious to see how the gold detailing stands up over time and under use. I really love shuffling for fun. It's relaxing so I'm 'bout to put them to the test! Hope this helped & that you enjoy your new deck ;) Review: Very beautiful and well packaged - These are really beautiful, fun to use, and come with a nice little booklet that gives you a quick rundown of how tarot works. They come packaged in this cute little box with faux velvet lining that's really neat too. I'm not exactly a tarot expert, but I thought these were great for entertaining friends. Handling them is an interesting aesthetic experience and I often find myself flipping through the cards just to look at the artwork. I don't regret buying these even though it is kind of a frivolous purchase for me, since I'm not really a "believer" in tarot. Sometimes it's just nice to have something pretty to look at. Some of the more critical reviews say that these cards can affect your readings since you can see the imprint of their designs when they're flipped. This is true. The cards are thin enough that you can see the imprint of the design from the back if you look closely, so my advice would be to not look too closely?? Lol. I'm a total novice at tarot so knowing what the cards look like doesn't guide my readings since I don't know what they mean without help anyway. But I thought it might be worth mentioning for other buyers.

This Deck is Breathtaking!
I first saw these cards online - I collect Tarot card decks and frequently look at the new decks coming out. I was immediately attracted to them - they look so elegant, black and gold! Well, the cards that arrived at my home did not disappoint. I love them. The are a good size, the card stock is fine and not too thin and flimsy, and the gold just shimmers in the light. Just beautiful. Standard R-W illustrations, of course. I may order another deck of these - one to keep in pristine condition and one to actually use, because I want to use this deck often. It's just so beautiful! This deck instantly became of favorite!

Most beautiful!
Absolutely beautiful! Perfect size and easy to shuffle and use. They have a great feel to them. The box they come in is quite elegant and the book is really detailed and a nice large size so it’s easy to read. I have been reading tarot since 1974 and have just over 200 hundred different decks. I love collecting them as the art work is most beautiful and detailed. This deck is one I’m not disappointed in. I ordered a second set to have and add to my collection.

MY FAVORITE DECK IN THE ENTIRE COLLECTION
This particular deck remains my absolute tried & true favorite for both myself & my Sitters. The Gold adds unsurpassed elegance that truly adds to the connection with Spirit. They are the perfect size, thickness, & quality for easy shuffling. They are so eye catching & appealing that Sitters request them specifically.

Lo Scarabeo’s “Tarot: Black and Gold Edition” a keeper
I have not written a review of a tarot deck in a while because of life circumstances, but I immediately felt I had to review the new Lo Scarabeo “Tarot: Black and Gold Edition” of the classic Rider-Waite tarot deck. The first thing that struck me about this deck was that it felt like “fun.” It had a lightness to it that was not physical. It’s been a while since I touched a deck that felt like fun, that asked to be looked at and shuffled and held. I cut my tarot teeth (so to speak) decades ago on the Rider-Waite tarot, and I am still its biggest fan. I have many iterations of it and read from other decks that are cloned from it. The beautiful deck is housed in a thematically gold and black box measuring 5 1/8 x 7 ¾ x 2 ¼ inches. The top wedge of the box is angled, slicing open artistically from top/bottom to bottom/bottom to reveal black velveteen inside. The accompanying full-size book has a black cover embossed in gold and runs 127 pages. It is simple and classic. But it is the cards themselves that are a surprise, especially to a reader. The cards are complete gold foil with black images/outlines. There is a basic patterned gold that appears throughout, rather like the motif of the deck, and it intermixes with the smooth gold foil to create the images. The black is not just an outline, or filling, but acts as a drawn illustration, providing depth to the images. The pictorial elements of the cards retain their three-dimensional depth, even without color. In fact, the absence of color allows the reader to concentrate more on the card elements, while the gold/black elements tend to focus attention in an in-depth way on the card’s message. The 2 1/2-inch by 4 5/8-inch cards shuffle easily, smooth as silk. The card backs retain the pattern of the gold foil fronts but are not themselves gold foil. Neither are the edges of the cards themselves gold foil. I personally like this because it eliminates any worry about rubbing gold shininess off the edges when shuffling. It's an interesting dichotomy of the cards, in that you would think the gold might distract or be “too much,” but in fact, by eliminating the color and paring down to just the gold, black and patterning, an essence or personality of the card springs forth that might surprise the seasoned reader. And, as I mentioned early on, it’s fun! In this time period of our planet, it becomes harder and harder to experience a type of untainted joy, and so it is a revelation to come across this deck which, both from a reader and collector point of view, hits all the marks! Some other differences between the original Waite-Rider deck and this dazzling deck include that the gold tarot cards are a tiny bit smaller than the original Rider deck — about 3/16-inch on the longer edge, and 1/16-inch on the bottom. As the gold tarot is borderless, it allows the eye more concentrated information, and provides a “cleaner” open look to the card. On the minus side (which is why I gave it four starts; one should be able to give four and a half stars!), the bottom of a number of the gold cards are often cut too very close to the card name, leaving no small space underneath, which is an artistic faux pas. In the case of the Magician and The High Priestess (to note two), the “period” after the letters is just about eliminated because of the cut. And, there is the tiniest bit of white card left at the top of the Magician and several other cards as well. I suspect the manufacturer of the cards felt pressure to get the deck out (as it was heavily delayed in delivery), which might have caused some minor discrepancies in the hurried processing — just a guess. However, it’s a minor item that will probably be improved on as production increases. Placing cards of the original color Rider deck side-by-side with the black/gold deck, can provide an interesting meditation, or drawing a three-card reading using both cards side-by-side can provide surprising insights that just the one card might not do. Altogether, I am happy with this deck. It’s definitely a keeper.

Buy it!
Absolutely stunning deck! I am so in love with this deck. The cards aren’t that small in my opinion, they’re a littttle thin but I’m always very careful with my cards anyways so idk not a big deal to me. They are seriously beautiful though so if you like gold, this is a must have deck in my opinion.

Para colecionadores !!! ✨
Deck absolutamente lindo!!!
