Common Sense Prevails
This is a very compact, common sense presentation to practical street stick fighting for self-defense. No wasted words or fancy theories just straight forward ideas about using a stick to defend ones self. Simple four (4) directions footwork, an explanation of the ranges, long, medium and short for defense and offense. I enjoyed reading this book and recommend it as primary introduction to stick fighting for personal self-defense.

Quick and real
I count on Mr. Franco to give a practical view. I do not know much about stick fighting, so this text was a fine introduction to the essentials. Sticks etc. are a primal type of weapon, which feels important to know the basics about.

Stay clear of people in military dress carrying around really big sticks (or knives,or guns, or kung fu swords)
To be honest I did not purchase this book and I was not given a copy to give a fair and unbiased review. The cover shows a gentleman in military style cameos holding two large sticks. I am guessing that working two sticks together would take a fair amount of training; not something for a beginner. I am also assuming that most branches of the military would focus on the use of more modern weapons than big sticks. If the individual on the cover is not a member of the military then does one want to receive training from someone who likes to dress up like a soldier even though they are not? If the purpose of this pamphlet is not to use but to defend themselves from someone who knows how to use to use big sticks I would say it is probably best to run away while the bad man is twirling his big sticks. And If I were law enforcement or security I would probably approach someone carrying around big sticks and at least ask them how their day is. Again this is just a relatively uniformed opinion based on the cover and free sample. And I probably have too much free time on my hands if I am taking the time to do this review. I will go do something productive and play with the dogs.

If you need to learn, you come to the right spot.
This is another example of Mr Francos' excellent method for breaking things down and teaching without all the filler. I'm enjoying the 10 best series and this is no exception.

Outline only
No meat on the bones. Nothing like cane fighting. Little practical application of any real world techniques. Glad it was not very expensive.
