The Literary Witches Oracle: A 70-Card Deck and Guidebook: Oracle Cards

Absolutely fantastic deck and packaging!

I absolutely adore this Oracle! It has two parts, the “Literary Witches” and the witches tools, which remind me of a sort of Lenormand system. It’s true that the lwb is very brief and doesn’t give much information, but I adore the deck so much that I can’t knock any stars off. However, there is a book that you can purchase separately, which if I’m not mistaken was released before the Oracle deck, and was the basis for the decks creation. The book is a treasure trove of poetic, colourful, lyrical, metaphorical descriptions of these literary “witches” and their powers, and stands alone as a truly brand entertaining book to read. The Oracle deck, therefore, can be better understood in the context of the book, which gives more than enough creative interpretation to add to your intuition when using the cards. I look forward to developing my relationship with this deck as these lovely literary ladies slowly reveal their secrets over time... I love the add on cards, the witches tools, that are somewhat Lenormand like (and I mean “like”, not actually Lenormand- the symbols are simple and pared down). I would say that it’s quite an exciting challenge for an advanced card reader to really flex their intuitive muscles in a new way, but I would probably steer beginners away from it as you are a bit on your own when it comes to using the cards in a practical way.

If you see the pictures, there is little left to say. The packaging is absolutely gorgeous! It is hard and proves to be the perfect box for our cards. The cards are stunning! Even if you are not interested in card readings and you are thinking about buying them because you love literature, they are beautifully illustrated. Each writer is portrayed in such a powefurl way that it is impossible not to fall in love with them! The imagery is superb and the quality is perfect! If you are interested in card readings, as a total beginner, I can say that they are nice. I didn't want to start learning with tarot cards and these cards are a good replacement. The interpretations are open and I feel that it helps if you know a little bit about the authors and their literary works. I am passionated about literature so they prove to be a good excuse to discover amazing writers. Honestly, if you are doubting about getting these cards, trust me it is the best purchase you'll make!

Stunning beauty and uniquely fantastic deck.

This is a gorgeous deck for us literary fanatics and I love the women writers who have been chosen to highlight. However, in terms of usability as a deck, I would give it one star. The descriptions of the cards are SOOOO disappointing. The author encourages you to use your I tuition but that feels more like an excuse for her to not have made any effort to include any sort of in depth meanings to the cards. As a professional tarot reader these are pretty much unusable for my clients as there is so little information. I've contemplated returning this but for the price, I may as well keep it and use it as a collector's item that will sit on a shelf to be looked at for its art. Really disappointed.

Excellent work! Not just an oracle deck, but also could be an educational source and an intellectual stimuli. The sophisticated art works bright up my room as well as my mood too. オラクルカードとしてだけではもったいないほどの高いクオリティです。部屋に置いているだけで、部屋の雰囲気と気分が上がります。

This deck is completely different from every other one I have in my collection (getting close to a 100 now thank you very much:D). My impression of it has been tossed around in the air a bit if you know what I mean. Its energy is intensely psychological in my opinion. It seeks to delve into hidden alleyways in your subconscious and dig up stuff you will find pretty revealing and transformative. As I write this piece I'm sitting in front of the reading you see in the picture. This theme has been floating around in my head for many readings now in recent days and weeks. Using other completely different deck that is. In that sense it has certainly been honest and stimulating for me. This particular spread truly blew my mind. The box is lovely. Beautiful colors and material. Clarkson Potter make interesting linen textured decks. The card stock is thick and sturdy but beautiful to riffle shuffle. The artwork is laden with symbology. Somewhat dark in my opinion but that's probably what I need to explore at this point in my divination journey. Trimming the deck is a given. I will do it as soon as I get the time. It's an awesome upgrade to its personality. The structure of the deck splits it in 2 parts. The authors (30) and the "witches' materials" (40). The latter is extremely interesting to use for me. Objects sitting there in an otherwise blank stark space. Speaking directly to your psyche. Triggers you in adventurous ways. The guidebook will give you interesting keywords to play with. No more. You're on your own beyond that. ( And yes it is based off of a hardbound book written earlier by the same creator and that does have a little more information if you care to get that on the side. I chose not to.) It's my "shrink deck" :P We had some stranger vibes in the beginning but now we are doing well . This psychological game and me. We're playing well.
