I’m surprised they offer a known name brand brake setup for such an affordable price.. This hydraulic rear brake is incredible. The cable is plenty long for a few wraps and it looks good! Install was easy, it came pre-bled, came with the install bolts, and works great. Time will tell how durable it is, but so far it’s a huge upgrade from my cable brakes. It’s nice to spin my bars and not change how my brakes function on my dirt jumper.

Shimano brakes deliver exactly what you expect. smooth, consistent, and powerful braking. Modulation is excellent, giving great control without feeling grabby, and stopping power is confidence-inspiring even on long descents. Setup and adjustment are straightforward, and once dialed in, they stay quiet and reliable. The build quality is top-notch and they perform flawlessly ride after ride. Easily one of the best braking systems I’ve used. If you plan on doing internal routing, you will need mineral oil. You’ll have to take it apart and bleed the brakes again. I knew that going into it. Far superior over cable brakes!!

Upgraded the mechanical disc brakes on my son’s Ozark Trail FS2 with these, front and rear. Super nice and crisp, great stopping power, highly recommend for the price. These come sealed and bled and ready to use, but if you need to do internal frame routing you will need to cut the lines, re install compression fittings and bleed, so just make sure you are comfortable with that process if needed.

Installed on a Macfox ebike and works a lot better than the factory brake.

Shimano rear brake completed. I would give it 5 stars but does not come with mounting hardware at all. Requires cantilever hardware to mount to your caliper adapter. Other than that, plug and play.

A breeze to install, maybe all of 30 min and perfectly solved my problem.

I bought front and rear Shimano MT201 brakes for my home-built recumbent trike. The trike originally used cable operated disk brakes. I created too many cable bends when routing the brake lines which in turn meant a lot of braking force was required. The Shimano hydraulics were an amazing improvement. MUCH less braking effort was required and the braking forces were better balanced. If I ever build another recumbent I will use these brakes.
