Installed on 2 gates in less than an hour
I chose this latch for 2 reasons: First, because it's stainless steel, Second, because it latches automatically. I installed 2 of these to replace the original coroding hasps on 2 gates. Took less than an hour including removal of the old hardware. They were easy to position & align & the provided stainless steel screws work perfectly with my wooden gates. The automatic latch works smoothly - just swing the gate closed to engage. Releasing the latch blindly from the other side is no problem - simply lift the catch lever. The catch lever can be locked with a small padlock, but I have no need to lock my gates.

Easy to install, good fit and finish
Installed on a gate exposed to sun and rain. Easy to install. All hardware included. No sharp edges or machining errors. Only installed a month ago, but no rust or wear yet.

Was a bit disappointed with the overall quality of the latch when it arrived. The metal is on the thin side, not as robust as others. It is made of stamped metal … in this case the process creates sharp edges all along the latch. Was able to find a latch in a local lumber store that was much stronger and made of heavier metal. Also, $8 cheaper and no razor sharp edges.

This is designed to operate the release catch from outside with a cord fitted to it . I have attached a stainless steel tube to the latch so that it is more comfortable to operate from inside. Stainless steel must be used outdoors due to the poor quality of galvanised steel these days. Quality 5 star.
