Punky Colour Depositing Shampoo and Conditioner, 8.5 oz (Redilicious)

Holy cow. Last night in artificial light I couldn't see what it had done see above pics. But this morning holy s### it's like a beacon, I frigging love it. Gonna get some other colours too now. I'm hooked. My hair was originally dyed with just henna powder (light mountain) this is usually a semi permanent but as my hair is very porous it is permanent for me. I was getting bored with just ginger over my natural blonde. So I figured if this didn't work, no harm done. I've not bleached my hair in the slightest for over 4 years and grew every inch of bleached hair out. So yeah I'm pretty chuffed at this result as it means I don't have to destroy my curls with bleach to achieve a bright colour anymore.

So I have ordered and used 3 different colours and each time I have to say my hair has completely blown me and others away! The colours are so vibrant. I apply it on 2 day old bleached hair and I'm never disappointed. Not sure what colour to go next. I'm currently rocking the pink and not in any rush to change it.

Intense red colour and my hair is already dark but had old colour from hairdresser. Kind of looked a bit coppery and orange at one point but I colour over it at hair dressers again which wasn’t a great result as these colours change the hair gradually.

Fair warning, this is VERY pigmented, it will stain everything it touches very quickly, including skin, your bath/tiles/grout/shower curtain. The first time I used it I didn't use gloves and knew about it, the second time I used gloves to put on but not for rinsing out. My hands and fingernails still got stained. As its marketed as a shampoo I thought it would be fine using it in the shower.... it is, it does work, but it stains your skin wherever it drips. Maybe consider a shower cap and exfoliating gloved to help wash it off your skin. Bleach will get any staining of bath/tiles etc easily And it DOES refresh your hair well, it definitely brightens up the hair... I use nutrisse red dye and planned to use this in between to refresh the colour/roots. I'm not sure if I will buy again though, its just so messy.

I got my hair dyed Red from a Salon a month ago and it faded off so I bought this product just to refresh my Reds. Since I’m new to this colour and colour depositing shampoo, I bought this just because it was cheaper. This shampoo works well, thumbs up. I kept it on my wet hair for 10 mins and my Red hair looked beautiful like before BUT BUT- it smells horrible. In the bottle it smells like bubblegum and after applying on hair or mixed with water, it smells like ROTTEN GARBAGE. I’m not even exaggerating. I have sensitive nose and my nose can smell even slightest of smells. So this was too strong for me and I almost felt like throwing up. It actually made me sick for the whole day. 🤢 Next day the smell was gone. So girls, if you can bear strong smells you might try this. Not to forget , once again- the colour pay off is great. Also it stains everything - from your skin to your bathroom floor, so take precautions before using it Thanks for reading ❤️

I'm not sure why people complain about the smell, just smells a bit like a poor attempt at mint but it isn't bad or strong at all. Works great, I condition my hair and add this on top, let it stay there for maybe 3-5 minutes tops, rinse with cool water and boom, bright red. It lasts a few washes, after my second wash it's noticeably faded but not to an extreme degree. Everything I could have asked for. Definitely wear gloves though.

I don’t write loads of reviews but I simply HAVE to write one for Punky. I am completely obsessed with these shampoo/conditioners! I have used the blue, purple and now the red for various ombré effects on my hair. The colour is super vibrant and lasts really well (please note that my hair is naturally blonde/brown and I have bleached it to get brighter colours, so I can’t speak for people with darker hair). I actually find it useful that it starts to wash out if you wash your hair with normal shampoo so you can choose a new colour. I wash my hair with this about twice a week and it looks incredible, really bright and colourful and it keeps my hair soft and shiny too. The smell is quite sweet but definitely not unpleasant. If you have light or bleached hair and fancy some fun colours this is definitely the way, no need to even start with a dye either if you don’t want to!

Love this shampoo for reviving colour! I have red highlights but my hair does not hold colour well. Every two weeks, I use this to bring back the vibrancy. I very lightly dampen my hair with a spray bottle then apply the shampoo. I leave on my hair for about 30 minutes then wash out. Make sure you wear gloves! It will stain your skin so I always make sure I colour at least two days before an event so the stains are gone. The pictures on the left are after about two weeks of regular shampoo, photos on the right are after a refreshing with Punky Color 3in1
