Rust-Oleum 7718830 Stops Rust Bright Coat Metallic Spray Paint, 11 Oz, Chrome (Pack of 1)

This is awesome on my resin pieces that do not turn out well color-wise. I just spray them with this, and they are sellable:) Covers great with one coat, nice and shiny.

This stuff is the real deal.

LOVE THIS STUFF!! So bright and shiny and easy to use and simply beautiful! It's all I can do to not spray paint every damn thing in the house lol My bedroom and bathroom have many silver and mirrored accents, and this chrome spray paint works beautifully on everything I've used it on. It goes on smooth, it's super shiny, just a beautiful true Chrome color. If you're using it on items that were previously Chrome just make sure you've dusted it well and cleaned it well, if any rust has occurred on the item take 0000 grade steel wool to it and then rinse and dry well, it will bring it back to life and make it look brand new. I've also used it on ceramic, plastic, and wrought iron, with amazing results. Here are some tips: Be patient and go slow! You'll save yourself time in the long run, by not having to start the project all over again because of drips and dust particles etc. If you go too heavy with the paint and see drip marks, it's because you went too heavy with the spraying. If this happens, let it cure for at least 2 days, then sand down with ultra fine steel wool and start over. If you want to avoid that whole fiasco then read on... I give whatever I'm going to paint (except glass and ceramics) a once-over, or more, with the 0000 grade steel wool. You can get a pack of 12 on Amazon for five bucks and it lasts a good long while. For restoring Chrome you need to remove any rust with 0000 grade steel wool, then spray paint lightly (no primer needed). I find that two coats are usually sufficient. Don't overpaint or saturate the item or you'll get drippage, just spray light coats every 20 minutes until you achieve the desired effect and coverage. I let it cure for 3 days before handling. If it's an item that will be handled regularly or be subject to moisture, I strongly suggest a clear top coat, which you can find in several finishes with Rust-Oleum. For ALL plastics and ceramics, go over it with the steel wool that I mentioned, rinse and dry, then prime with Rust-Oleum 2X Flat White. For light colored plastic I do 2 coats 20 minutes apart, for darker colored items 2 to 3 coats 20 minutes apart or as much as needed to cover the color completely. I've never needed more than three coats on anything. Then let it dry for an hour and apply the Rust-Oleum Chrome paint. Spray lightly! It's easy to want to go crazy with that paint but don't do it or you will wind up with drips! Be patient and give it a light coat every 20 minutes until you have the desired effect. I let my items cure for three or four days, and if it's an item that will be handled often I use a clear top coat. For wrought iron plan on at least three coats of the paint primer I mentioned above, then proceed as mentioned above, leaving it to dry 20 minutes between coats. However I do NOT recommend using steel wool on wrought iron as the fibers will catch on the surface. If you feel it needs some sanding use an ultra fine grade sandpaper. For ceramics or glass, do not sand at all, just make sure the surface is clean. I find using a foam window cleaner to work quite well. Then go ahead and give it the primer treatment, going very lightly every 20 minutes until it is covered. Wait an hour then proceed as above with the chrome spray paint, spraying light coats every 20 minutes until you have the desired effect. Let it cure for a few days before handling it, and like I said if it's a item that will be handled frequently I strongly suggest a clear top coat finish, which I would apply 24 hours after you are finished painting it. Also I recommend giving the finished item at least a few days to cure. * if you are going to spray paint lamp shades make sure you prime inside and outside of the shade. I tend to use several coats on the inside because I found if I don't the outside painting will appear blotchy when you turn the light on. If you proceed patiently, your patience will be rewarded with a beautiful item that looks like you just bought it. Enjoy!

Works great. I should’ve used a primer, but honestly I just wanted to see how it’d look. And gotta say, very impressed. It’s why shinier and bright in person, almost hurts your eyes to look at it too long. My plan after this is to use some colored clear coat over it to make a nice candy blue. Pleased with this for sure!

Great .... as expected

Rarely am I so impressed with a product as this one. We got this rack with a Bunn coffee pot we bought off of F.B. Market Place. It was pretty rough. Rust all over. It did not look good. So I pressure washed it, still not good. Then I sanded lightly with steel wool, better but the rust still looked bad. Ordered The Rust-Oleum Chrome. Took the whole can but man did it do the job. It looks great! Like new. For the most part it has a decent shine. Not as bright as the lid but what could anyone expect from a can? Keep in mind I applied this over chrome, so that could have an effect. At any rate I can guarantee I will buys this again.

The color is super shined and strong odor it’s FULL coverage and easy use js spray it I will say tho it’s very hard to take off of surface you accidentally got paint on so definitely be careful with that but overall definitely had to get more of and definitely tried the gold as well

Worked as expected. I needed it to paint a cosplay machete I’m working on. Base color was black and after using an adhesion promoter here is a pic of one coat of the paint after 24hr dry. It’s not quite chrome per se but it does have a glare and slight reflection as u can see. Definately metallic looking. I’ve seen a comment comparing it to the backside of aluminum foil but I would say my result came out somewhere in between the back of the foil and the front shiny side.

It couls have been a bit more dark silver gloss. But great product and the coat lasts under hardwater exposure as well Dries quickly: Dries within 2 hours of application Quantity: Sufficient quantity Sprayability: Very efficient spray coat that covers the area without spray spillage

Excellent Quality

Bought this paint for winter rims so they would match chrome package/ detailing on pick-up truck. Was a little late applying and feared they would peel right off with snow, wet and cold. Nope - product/ paint has held up just fine - better cause rims still look perfect and new after one of the worst, roughest and coldest Winter ever. And the tires look awesome! — match truck chrome perfectly. Sooo much better than those drab standard black winter rims. I have had more comments and more people asking where I got rims then I can count. Application was easy and smooth. Great even coverage. Covered tires to do just rims, so no overspray. I bought two cans but was able to do all rims with just one can on all 4 20” plus tires - full perfect coverage. Chrome look is fantastic. Product met all my expectations and then some. Truck maintained its great look through Winter thus far. Very, very happy with results and quality.
