A new toddler title charts a crucial achievement. (Ages 1-3) There comes a point in a toddlerโs life when going in oneโs diaper is only one possible option, and the question must be raised: Should I go in my potty? With pitch-perfect humor and pacing, Leslie Patricelli follows the inner dialogue (sure to have little ones shouting responses) and hilarious actions of everyoneโs favorite Baby, winding up with an over-the-top look of surprise and delight that will have both parents and offspring laughing out loud. "I did it!" Review: Wonderful book--helpful and nothing strange - I really love this sweet book. We first checked it out from our local library on a whim, but my daughter (almost two) liked it so much that we went ahead and bought it. Besides the fact that my daughter likes it so much, I love this book for the following reasons: 1. It shows just the right amount Some potty books just go too far in how much of the body they show and it's just awkward to me. Then there are other potty books on the other end of the spectrum that have kids wearing underwear while they're sitting on the potty. Not helpful when you're trying to teach a little one how to use the potty. This book shows just enough to be helpful and instructive, but there are no awkward moments in pointing things out on the little kid in the book. And because it doesn't show any private parts, it's great both boys and girls! 2. The story is funny and true to life Both my daughter and I love all the funny faces the kid in the book makes. She'll copy the faces all the time and it cracks us up. She also thinks it's funny when the kid forgets to take off his diaper before he sits on the potty. I think, even though it's just something silly, it's also something she can really relate to and understand. 3. The artwork is charming The illustrations are simply charming. They have lots of great color and they're easy for my daughter to understand. 4. It's really engaging We've checked out several potty books from the library for my daughter who's almost two. She's shown interest in a lot of the books, but not for as long or as much as this book. It's truly made her excited to use the potty and wear panties. Half the time I think she just wants to try and go on the potty so she can read this book. Hopefully this is helpful if you're looking at buying it online and haven't been able to flip through it before. We love it! Review: perfect book pre-potty training for younger kids - My baby loves this book. He is one year old and really seems to respond well to the little child character. Itโs perfect that there is a dog and cat in this book too. Some of his favorite things! I like that this book does not get too specific, but just kind of sets the stage for future talks. Thereโs nothing concrete at all.

Entertaining for toddler
Great book for my 15 month old. She enjoys books that have cats and dogs in them, this book has both in it briefly just enough to get her interested in the book. The illustrations are cute as well

Positive, child-centered book for little kids who are considering the potty
This book is about a little kid who realizes he needs to pee. He considers what animals do (kitty uses a litter box, while doggy pees in the yard), and debates what he should do himself. Should he go in his diaper, as he has in the past? Or should he try to use the potty this time? He decides to give it a go on the potty. After sitting patiently for a long time, he is finally successful. His mommy and daddy are excited, and presumably they live happily ever after, etc. As a parent, I liked that this is a very child-centered book. It is not about parents trying to potty-train a child. It is about a child making deciding for himself that he would like to use the potty, working through the idea, giving it a try, struggling, and ultimately succeeding. The parents are only shown at the very end of the book, celebrating the child's success. This book is simple, colorful, and fun. It addresses many concerns relevant to a child, including: -Deciding whether to use diapers vs. potty -Boredom associated with sitting on the potty while waiting for the pee or poop to come out. -Humor. The child initially sits down on the potty with his diaper still on, then remembers to take it off. A toddler who has been introduced to how the potty works will be amused by this rookie mistake. -More humor. The child dozes off on the potty, only to be awakened by the noises "Tinkle, tinkle, TOOT!" as his pee and poop comes out. If you are 2 years old, this is hysterical. -The eventual milestone of getting to wear big-kid underpants RECOMMENDED AGE RANGE: 1-2 years. Due to it's simplicity and the baby-like appearance of the protagonist, this is great book for younger potty-trainers. For a child who is late to training (age 3), other books like Joanna Cole's "My Big Boy Potty" / "My Big Girl Potty" would be more appropriate.

Very Simple Book About Potty Training and is Probably Best For Younger Children
We purchased this book a year ago when our twins were just starting to show some interest in the potty. I wanted to get a few books that would be fun tools to help teach them how to use the potty and this book seemed very popular with good reviews, so we ordered it along with a few others. Potty is a short story with few words about a young toddler who wonders if he or she should go to the potty in a diaper or in the potty. The tiny human thinks about how cats and dogs go to the bathroom and if using the potty is the right thing to do. The pictures are pretty cute and my twins, who are now three-and-a-half, still enjoy looking at the pictures. This book measures 7 inches by 7 inches, has 28 pages and is a board book with thick pages so it's very durable in case your kids are still in the very destructive stage! The little person is also gender neutral so this book would be good for boys or girls. This book is very cute but, if you decide to purchase it, you will probably need to do a lot of explaining as to what is going on in each picture. That doesn't bother me too much but some people may prefer books that have more words and tell a story. We also have Potty Book for Girls, The and The Potty Book: For Boys (I have boy/girl twins) and those have more of a story so if you prefer a potty book that has more words, I'd recommend either or both of those. This book would probably be more appropriate for children in the one to two year age group but older children might not find it interesting. My kids still like to look at the pictures but we don't use it much anymore although we read it a lot when we got it last year. I gave this book four stars because my kids really liked it, even if I am not too thrilled with it. It's still so reasonably priced that I don't regret buying it since my kids liked it and it helped them learn to use the potty!

Simple. And the best!
Favorite potty book so far! We read it a few times a day and I ask questions like, "should she go in the potty?" and now she answers, "yes!" Its nice that its not a wordy book but gets all the major points across, it allows me to guide it a bit. The pages are different colors so its more fun than some other potty books. Also its nice the character doesnt look specifically like a boy or girl, so my daughter associates the little kid with herself.

Cute potty training book!
My son LOVES this book (21mos) and has slowly started to use the potty. Cute & simple story that you can read over and over and over again (on or off the pot!)

Great for introduction to potty training
Great book! The illustrations are fabulous. The big expressions are great and really get kids attention wanting to copy the expression. It's a good book to help introduce the potty. I learned about this book through the Toddlers Made Easy podcast by Dr. Cathryn on Spotify. The only thing I wish this book had would be a few more descriptive words such as "kitty poops in the litter box" or "doggy pees on the tree" or "big yawn" vs "oh". However, this book is still great for helping to break the ice around potty training.
