What are the dimensions of the unit.

Dimensions (W×H×D) 6.2 × 2.6 × 4.3 in Obviously Amazon has the dimensions completely wrong. I almost bypassed this unit because of the sizes listed.

Does the gps and distress function work without connecting the nmea leads? i dont have any other equipment to connect to.
