Review: Nice product. Good compression. Works well. Reduces swelling. - Good compression.
Review: Great Alternative - These knee-highs are the solution to the lymphedema swelling in my ankles, calves, and feet. I tried 3 pairs of Jobst thigh-highs before realizing that the knee-high works best for me. Although I do have large varicosities all the way up my legs, the thigh levels were just too tight and painful. These still provide the strong compression I need without the behind the knee pain often associated with thigh highs. They are very long and I have very long legs. I am 5'7", I weigh 175 and I ordered a medium. I wear them every day and hand-wash them every other. I've had them for about a month and not even a blip in the fabric. Very sturdy. I do have thin legs and these are perfect. I'd have given a 5 star, except for the length in the foot cuff. It tends to roll when I put on my shoes. They could be tighter there. The fabric, compression level, and sturdiness are better than Jobst, IMO.

## Questions & Answers

**Q: What makes Truform different from other compression brands?**
A: Truform is part of SAI Brands, a family-run business in Cincinnati, Ohio since 1893. With 100+ years of medical manufacturing expertise, Truform maintains its own FDA-registered factory to ensure regulatory compliance for Class II medical devices.

**Q: What makes Truform Class II medical compression different from Class I general compression?**
A: Class II has a verified compression profile for a specific medical use and is regulated by the FDA. Class I is for "general use" such as lifestyle-type shapewear and sports performance. Class II must register a UPC and/or UDI barcode with the FDA.

**Q: How do I know if compression garments are Class I or Class II?**
A: Class II is a higher level of registration and device class which can be identified in the FDA's GUDID database. Unique Device Identifier (UDI) barcode and lot code are required on all packaging. If the barcode contains letters it is not Class II.

**Q: How do I know what compression level is right for me?**
A: If you are new to medical compression start with 15-20 mmHg. If you have no symptoms, are interested in preventative care, and or sit or stand for long periods of time then start with 8-15 mmHg. From there move up to higher levels as needed.

**Q: What does mmHg mean and how does it relate to graduated compression profiles?**
A: mmHg is a measurement of pressure and stands for "millimeters of mercury" - the highest number is the tightest point of compression (at the ankle), from there pressure decreases to move blood up the leg. This gradient is called graduated compression.

### ⭐⭐⭐ O.K. with open-toe sandals - HANDY OPTION for those who need it!
*by T***~ on 13 May 2018*

Reason for buying: I bought these as a gift for my Mother. Her cardiologist recommended she go UP from a 20-30 compression to the next category. Her varicose veins give her a great deal of pain and in addition, compression stockings are a must for her on flights to avoid Deep Vein Thrombosis. Finally, she was told that she's got to wear compression stockings or socks every day and all day. This was upsetting for someone who lives in sandals and slides. I tell you - old age is not for the faint of heart! The thigh-high stockings didn't work well and the waist-high pantihose version even less so: occasional kidney problems make it imperative that whatever compression stockings she wears removes easily and quickly. I had to find compression stockings that could be worn with open-toed sandals and slides WITHOUT looking too obvious. What we found: She liked the look of them but COULD NOT get the stockings on her foot. Not the stocking's fault, of course. Despite the cardiologist's recommendation of a 30-40 compression, we're taking her back down to something more manageable; something she can actually slide onto her feet. Since I travel with compression socks, I requisitioned this pair and they felt fine. You've got to roll them on slowly and carefully and position the seam just right. I hated the aesthetics of these and had to remind myself that they weren't designed for beauty - merely utility. The toe area rode up a bit (I wore these with Clark's open-toe sandal) but a little adjusting helped. This will come in handy for summer trips by plane or when there's a long bout of summer walkabouts in humid weather. I really try not to use compression stockings too much for fear I'll get used to them and once you cross THAT Rubicon, it's a slippery slope. I will update the review again post-Summer. Thank you for taking time to read this review about a pedestrian (but useful) item. I hope it was helpful to you.
