First thing first Amazon has information wrong. Lifegard Quiet One does not make a 991 gph pump. It maybe the old version title but this pump is Quiet One Pro Series model 4000 pump rated at 1022 gph. Attach photo is the chart with all model by Lifegard Quiet One pump. The nice thing about this pump is it is super quiet like its name. It is a very compact design with intergraded prefilter for insump (wet) or the prefilter can be removed and the 1" barb hose attachment be install for external (dry). 2 piece of 1" barb hose attachment is included for inlet/outlet use. This pump is very affordable, powerful, quiet, and long lasting. The pro series is said to be 50% quieter then the old version. I can prove or disapprove because I never used the old version of the same size.

Bought to replace an inop pump on a large canister filter. Easy to install and it works great.

I have this for my 50 gallon cube saltwater aquarium. I had to dial it down to the minimum flow rate as my durso drain couldn't keep up with this return pump with 3.5 feet of tubing to the return nozzle. Nice to know I've got room to spare. It also hasn't gotten clogged despite other powerheads in my sump getting loads of macroalgae bits lodged in their intakes. Overall, solid quality pump.

I installed and operated the Quiet 4000 in a turtle and fish pond in Basrah, Iraq and it performed superbly with proper, daily filter maintenance. This happened in temperature conditions of 20 degrees to 145 degrees F. I would recommend this product to anyone with a fresh water pond! It effectively circulated the water and filtered it, keeping the pond crystal clear. When used with an effective algaecide, this product will keep your pond clean and healthy for your pond pets. I bought the Lifegard kit with this pump included. The pump was way loud. Emailed called Lifegard. Did speak to a guy who told me to disassemble the pump and look at the magnetic something or rather. Did so, nothing looked a-miss. Emailed pictures and sound video. No response. In a hurry, thinking I just had a lemon, and ordered the same model from Amazon. REPLACEMENT PUMP IS JUST AS LOUD. I would love not to have to leep buying pumps. Terrible product.

The lifegard quiet one pumps and their costumer service department deserve a 5 star rating. I recently bought my second one to replace another that just failed after 5 years on continuous service in my pond. It probably would have lasted longer if I had taken better care by cleaning the impeller shaft and applying lubricant as the instructions suggest. The only caveat is, be extremely careful to order the pump that you need such as, a pond pump, fountain pump, an aquarium pump. The descriptions and packaging as viewed on Amazon are a bit confusion. I got it right 5 years ago but messed it up this time by ordering the wrong one. In my case, this meant that I didn’t get the accessories I needed. Lifegard is sending them to me however and, free of change.

I wasnt sure if i should purchase this pump or not but decided to and worked out great. i lower the flow rate while feeding so my fish have a chance to eat. After 5 or 10 min i turn it back full blast and it circulates all the water very fast. The only issue i have with it is that it is a little noisy but I dont mind it since the fish tank is in the living room and not in my bedroom. Also the fittings that come with it does not work well so what i ended up doing was buying some fittings from HomeDepot to screw into the return end to get a tighter fit which at about $3 each but a simple fix. I would buy it again if they go out in the long run

Bought one six months ago, decided to get another for water changes

The box was beat up and the pump casing looked like it was a play toy for a cat. On top of that, it was covered with a thin layer of some kind of oil. Verrrry misleading vendor. I would have given it a goose egg, but that wasn't an option. On the positive side, I already have a Lifegard pump in use, and have no problems with it at all. It's not the product I'm dissing, but the vendor.

This is the same as the aquarium pump but with a long cord. Been running mine in a saltwater sump (total 55 gallon system) for about a year with no problems, good flow through the seahorse tank and at about 3' head. Would strongly recommend for those seeking a cost effective option to other reef pumps.
