Grover Blue Grass Jaw Harp, No. 8037

So to start, as a new player its perfect. Its sturdy enough to be very forgiving. That being said, please for your own sake and that of your dentist look up how to play it on YouTube or something or you WILL chip your teeth. My 1st twang that made music about 20 minutes into trying to figure it out chipped my front tooth. But its alright now it wasn't too bad. Just made me double down on learning otherwise I chipped a toof for no reason. Its sound is not unique persay but its still a good sound. Rather deep even when making the mouth motions to make a higher pitch. I've got another one from Grover on the way rn, a tenor harp. I'll report if that ones as good as this one. But 10 out of 10 would recommend. For all the haters saying its a prop or doesn't make sound you literally just arent playing it right stay mad lmao

It barely functions, and it's incredibly hard to get any sort of tone with it. It's so large that it's almost painful to use (I am concerned I will eventually hurt myself if I continue to use this) Between the difficulty to use and the almost nonexistent tone, I wouldn't recommend this even for a beginner. On top of all that, it was pretty bent and out of shape when it arrived. It doesn't appear to have been damaged, but rather it seems like quality control is not even an afterthought for this company. I genuinely wouldn't recommend this product to anyone, and I'm rather upset that there are people/companies out there that would even attempt to sell this garbage to a customer. I really wonder how people sleep at night when they make their living ripping people off with inferior products. If any person saw this product before it was shipped, they'd have known right away that it wasn't functional. I'm thoroughly disgusted with the prevalence of these literal garbage products getting in the way of anyone being able to find something with reasonable quality. Even if you're a beginner, I would recommend to keep looking, this product is depressing, sad, and will suck all of the initiative and willpower to try something new right out of you. You'll be better off imagining your potential with no product than trying to learn or perform with this.

Ah, the Grover Jaw Harp – the delightful instrument that promised to unlock the music within me! I mean, how hard could it be? Spoiler alert: Think Rubik's Cube, but for your mouth. For the first few days, I sounded like a confused frog with hiccups. Day 7? I think I accidentally summoned the spirit of an ancient jaw harp master who, I must say, seemed rather disappointed in my efforts. By day 14? Well, let's just say the local wildlife seems to have new opinions about my musical prowess. But amidst the sonic chaos, the jaw harp stayed strong, resilient, and ever so patient as I tested the boundaries of audible sound (and my neighbors' patience). It's built to last, and let's be honest, it's pretty forgiving for an instrument that has to put up with my, shall we say, "unique" playing style. In conclusion, if you're looking for an instrument that doubles as a party trick, conversation starter, and potential alien communication device, the Grover Jaw Harp has got your back. Just maybe keep a two-week buffer before any public performances (or longer, in my case). Would recommend? Heck yes! Especially for those eager to find out if their inner musician is more "maestro" or "may-stow that thing away." Either way, it's a twang-tastic time!

Got it for someone child and it’s a snoopy harp and it’s a prop does not play anything

Little sound output, still fun to play. Worth it if you're interested in learning to play and just want to dip your toes in the water. Bought a much nicer one a week later. If you really want to play just fork up the extra 30 or 40 bucks and get a nice one you won't be sorry

This is a bad "snoopy harp" that doesn't make any noise. I watched a few youtube videos to learn how to play this instrument and they warned against buying a snoopy harp that had the arms too far apart to make the right sound. I did not know this was the bad kind of jaw harp because they changed the box design a tiny bit and didn't show a picture of the box design. You can see in the picture though that the arms are too far apart from the trigger. Even in one reviewer's video who fixed the arms in a vice, the sound was still bad. There must be very little room between the trigger and the arms to get the right sound. This makes almost no sound as is. It is a waste of time and money. Don't be fooled by the good reviews.

2 stars because this harp never claimed to be anything more than a toy. You get what you pay for. Stiff reed sends all the vibration into your head and causes headaches. Tone leaves much to be desired. Bought this as a beginner harp but took about an hour to figure out about everything I could do with it. Doesn't pick up many tones from mouth and throat shapes, not very loud. Tone doesn't have great resonance. It'll get you started but may turn you off to harps. Would be better off investing in a better one to grow with.

Nearly knocked my front Teeth out as the Twanger its very strong , to strong to play comfortably, it has a very low tone with not much variation in sound, I play various mouth harps , the best type to start with are " Double Vietnamese Don Moi" witch you hold gently on the front of your slightly open lips , not on your Teeth, by moving your tongue to the top of your mouth the tone will be higher than if you keep your tongue flat at the bottom of your mouth, your tongue is what you use most to play this pocket instrument along with correct breathing techniques , try following the Tune Banjo Duels , Hold firmly in the left hand and with the inside edge of your thumb play gently forward notes by brushing the end of your harp while holding fairly firmly to start with, notes can be played on an outward stroke and back on in stroke , the Vietnamese Don Moi is available in Single - Double - triple Twangs , they are Laser Cut and made of thin brass , fairly sharp so not recommend for small children un supervised , comes complete with its own decorated cardboard protection tube ,the harp is connected by a cotton thread , pull gently and the harp slides inside the tube , wrap the surplus cotton around the tube.. Excellent for accompanying other instruments, with or without a Mic .. Available on ebay. from "Sound For Health" £3 and £4 each .. You with have fun with this easy to play little Gem ...play fast and slow with a gentle knack , don't play heavy handed with your twanger or you will bend it out of shape or at worst ruin it...buy 3 for under a £10 - because when you get into it and play for longer periods of time , its good to let them cool down or they can snap on each side of the laser cuts , the keys are random ,but don't differ that much between them...
