The Best!
There's a reason these cost more. They are unbelievably tender and juicy. I've been a sardine fan for many years, having stuck with the Tiny Tots rather than larger more meaty (and dry) varieties, but I've never had sardines as good as Ortiz. Plump, tender, and delicious, these are larger than the Tiny Tots but on a whole other level. Will stick with these from now on.

Delivery issues
I have waited over a month for delivery of this item, although it was supposed to arrive last week. The excuse is that it's coming directly from Portugal. Taste superb. It's more expensive than the ventresca tuna I get from Ecuador, which is also excellent. Delicious in light salad with olives, capers and onion. (some like to add cheese and slices of tomato) Would have given it 5 star review if delivery weren't a significant drawback.

The best sardines I was able to buy in the U.S.A. so far
I like these Ortiz sardines (product of Spain) very much and will be buying agin.Each Ortiz sardine is bigger by factor 4 when compared to the excellent “baby” sardines from Spain: “Matiz Sardinillas with Piquillo Peppers”, but perfectly marinated, in quality oil olive. Both Ortiz and Matiz equally excellent a tie for the first place (5*) on the U.S. market.IMO Oritz and Matiz sardines are much better than the Wild Planet sardines packed in Thailand (1*):https://www.amazon.com/Wild-Planet-Sardines-Virgin-Lightly/dp/B003H7YHUW/ref=cm_cr-mr-title?th=1or the “King Oscar Finest Norwegian Brisling Sardines in Olive Oil” packed in Poland (1*).
