The extra length is essential in removing exhaust springs from snowmobiles where you need the reach. It makes the job so much easier to accomplish. I've never liked installing and removing exhaust springs from my sled. I've even said a few times under duress "there's a special place in hell for whoever invented exhaust springs." With this product, I can happily remove and replace the springs in a snap with a lot less cursing. The metal was soft enough to bend to get the second baffle in but is not usable on future projects. If you need it for one bike it will save you money. If you are a mechanic don't waste your money. I was using a harbor freight 2 lbs slide hammer. If you have a 5lbs one it will break faster. I got a total of 18 slide pulls with the hammer before it broke.
