Decent knife
All good. Slightly tricky to remove from packaging, but patience paid off. Seems sturdy enough for cutting vinyl tiles, which why I bought it. It replaces an old one, which has passed its useful service life. Nice yellow colour, too, so won't get lost in the toolbox.

Dont like the silly slot of a button near the point of the blade.
I found this stanley knife a pain to use. The red push our button on the side at the front is almost inmpossible to press in to retreive the blade. I gave up and put the stupid thing in the tool drawer. I will give it to the first person who likes it. They are welcome to it. It has one redeeming feature in that it has spare blades in the flipup handle. Apart from this trying to get the blade to slide out to use is a pain. There is a sliding black button on the top and at the same time you have to press in a horribly painful almost knife edge of a red button near the entrance. It didnt work for me. No matter how I tried pressing it. I got a very painful bruising on the end of my thumb trying to work the darn thing. Bring back the old fashioned grey Standly knife that I have used for forty years and if someone hadnt helped themselves to it I would still be using it today.

Good, but not easy to assemble for 1st use
Somewhat difficult to follow pictures and get the blade to fit which was so frustrating. Once you've wasted half an hour and at the point of giving up it finally locks in. But it is a good knife, just a pain to get the new blade in

Comfortable on the hand, lots of nice features, up to usual Stanley Standards!
I have owned a few Stanley, and other branded, knives such as this. Usually they become uncomfortable to use, a lack of rubber inserts on the grip, gunk can get into the mechanism or i just lose them. I picked this up based on the fact it is Stanley so a well recognised brand of some stature, its yellow so easy to pick out on the floor or a cluttered tool tray and it has some good reviews as well as added features. - The knife comes with a small cardboard insert attached, no excessive packaging. Its very comfortable to hold, the rubber inserts as mentioned really make a difference when using for a prolonged period of time or when using lots of pressure. The build quality feels nice and solid, the slides and click fasteners just work, a few months of use and they still simply just work with no fuss. - I like the balance of the knife, its fairly even and not overly top heavy as some of the others i have owned have been. The quick release mechanism does take a couple of click releases to get used to, it requires a little shift to one side once the blade is inserted to fully lock in place but its not problematic. - The additional blade holder is super useful, it just means you arent trapsing back to your tool box for replacements or worse still having to carry spare blades in your pockets or tool belt, which is just a recipe for hand and finger cuts. - I have had this for three months now and used in a variety of situations, both at work and at home. Carpets, underlay, plastics, cable, tape, whatever material i use it on it hasnt bent, broken or let me down. The blades stay firmly in place, the quick release works just fine and i dont have that aching hand syndrome some of the competition have in the past left me with when ive had to use for an hour or more. Its a really well thought out and robustly manufactured knife, im unsure how you could improve it so its Five Stars.

Packing difficult to get off.
Very good, but don’t take apart to get packing out, tricky to put back together.

Damit kriegt man selbst sehr dicke Kartonagen klein. Sehr praktisch auch das extra Fach für die Ersatzklingen. Liegt gut in der Hand und wirkt sehr stabil und hochwertig. Klare Kaufempfehlung!

This is cheap and badly engineered product. The moving parts are stiff and rickety. The blade doesn't fit properly into the front cavity.
