Really great lamp! I use this to take my elderly doggy out at night and it makes life so much easier than using a torch. It is very bright and illuminates a great distance. The batteries it came with lasted about one night I think, but I have rechargeable ones I use instead. It blinks red every thirty seconds or so to indicate the battery needs changing so it doesn't just drop in blackness for you, unlike some other torches I've had in the past. I find the buttons a little awkward to use when I have it on, they're not particularly easy to press into when you're wearing it but maybe that's just a "me" problem rather than an overall design issue. Better that than accidentally pressing the wrong ones easily. It feels light while it's on your head, the plastic backing can feel a bit cold when you first wear it but you soon tune it out. The stretchy band doesn't feel tight at all and you can wear it with ease for a long duration.

This works really well. It's bright, comfortable and stays in place when I'm wearing it. It has also survived being caught in heavy rain a couple of times so it does seem to be water resistant. The only down side is that there were no instructions with mine and it's not obvious how to use the various functions. Here's what I figured out by experimenting: It has separate wide and narrow beam white LEDs controlled by the right button. Tap once for both beams, twice for wide only, three times for narrow only. To adjust brightness, hold the button instead of tapping - it will start at full brightness then dim so you can release the button when it's at the right brightness. The red and green LEDs are controlled by the left button: tap once for steady red, twice for flashing red and three times for green. It's probably best to get some rechargable batteries for it and use the included batteries for something else because it will drain them in a few hours.

A head torch for light home use only. This head torch survived 9 working days in arduous wet conditions. (At that point it wouldn’t turn on or off with the button, and turned itself on and off on its own.) Good: Light is bright enough to be useful and weight is low. It functions well in dry conditions. The AAA batteries can be changed quickly. Headband will fit most heads and fitted my hard hat quite well with small cable ties. The light pointing mechanism allows you to easily point the light beam up and down where you need it. (At your feet or further ahead.) Bad: Not waterproof, was used in moderate rain on a hard hat for 8 hrs yesterday. Head torch now turns on and off randomly without anyone touching it. (I think this head torch would survive short walks to the corner shop in light rain, if left to dry after.) Battery usage, it used one set of good quality 3xAAA batteries per 12 hours shift, as I wanted high light output most of the time. (Battery replacement was easy and painless though.)

I bought these mainly for working inside computer cases, but honestly the uses are endless. The modes are all great and work as expected. Build quality is very good. Only slight annoyance is the buttons can be a bit tricky to find whilst wearing at first, but you soon get used to it.

Just the right size, lots of settings for brightness, as well as extra colours (red & green). Good value for money. Only little niggle is that the switches for turning the lights on are not so easy to find when on your head in the dark - you are relying on touch and they aren't very prominent, but it's not a big problem.

We love this headlamp so much we have two in our house! We mainly use them headlamp when walking the dog, even when the main white light is fading the red light feature allows you to still be seen by cars at night. The tilt feature is great and allows you to alter where the light is shining. Highly recommended, would not be without!
