My lovely Jane (now in her second incarnation) Let me tell you about my relationship with Jane. The original Jane came to me secondhand, and we had a beautiful romance until she suffered what I can only describe as a "Beauty and the Beast level" chip situation. I'm talking waterworks here. Time for Jane 2.0. Jane 2.0 is everything I remembered and more. She's a proper lady in my new car, sitting perfectly in the cup holder like she belongs there. Now, my 2001 vintage ride? Jane simply refuses to sit like a lady in those ancient cup holders, but honestly, I forgive her completely. A mug of her caliber has standards. Unlike those brutish stainless steel contraptions that make tea taste like you're drinking from a toolbox, Jane keeps my tea tasting like actual tea. Her dainty little cap is the perfect gentleman, protective but not overbearing, keeping splashes at bay without making a big fuss about it. Here's where Jane really shines: she's reasonable about temperature. Pre-fill her with boiling water before making tea, and she'll keep things hot but actually drinkable for my commute and beyond. No hour-long standoffs with molten liquid here, Jane believes in civilized tea drinking. The entertainment value? Priceless. My 1-year-old is absolutely enchanted by Jane's lid-removal capabilities (strictly supervised carpet-only performances, naturally). It's like having a built-in baby toy that also happens to serve excellent tea. And can we talk about her thoughtfulness? Jane comes with her own little "gloved base" a subdued colored silicone coaster that protects my boss's wooden furniture. She's basically the Emily Post of travel mugs, always thinking about proper etiquette. Fair warning: Jane has some heft to her. She's not one of those flighty, lightweight mugs that might accidentally float away. When you lift Jane, you know you're holding something substantial. Each sip has weight, literally and metaphorically. Bottom line: Jane 2.0 is the Goldilocks of travel mugs, not too hot, not too cold, not too fancy, not too plain. She's just right. If you're looking for a mug that combines functionality with a touch of class, Jane might just be your perfect match.

I love everything about this mug. I bought one for home and 1 for the office. Coffee stays warm (not hot, though) the built in coaster offers good protection and the handle is the right size to hold comfortably. The mug is a solid weight that just feels good in your hand. I looked a long time before deciding on this mug and Its been worth it.

I like the cup, it's capacity and looks and the fact that it's all ceramic. But there is an issue with heat retention because it cools down liquids quickly. A partial fix to that that slows down the cooling process is to fill the cup with boiling or your hottest tap water before brewing anything in it. This will make the exterior warm to hot but it does slow down the cooling process. Heat retention is an issue and the reason for four stars and not five.

Excellent quality mug. Durable and leak proof. Everything I need in a mug. Ergonomic, easy to open and close, the color is good too. My wife loves this mug. You can just throw it in the dishwasher and it’s clean. Easy to keep clean and no mold is going to grow because there’s no nooks and crannies to worry about. Yes I would recommend this mug to you. I was looking for a mug that would keep my coffee hot for at least 15 minutes with the lid on while I sip and read and that was also dishwasher safe and microwave safe. Unfortunately this mug is not it. It's a pretty mug, very attractive in my kitchen. but even with the lid on, my coffee cools down as fast as my other coffee mugs and in addition it's pretty heavy. I gave it three stars because it is a good mug if you're not looking for heat retention and don't mind the extra weight. It's microwave and dishwasher safe and it's also very attractive and will be a good travel mug that won't easily tip over while you're in motion. I don't think I'll be returning it because even though it's not the perfect coffee mug I was hoping for. it's still a beautiful coffee mug that I will be pleased to serve coffee to company now and again. However, if you're looking for a coffee mug that keeps your coffee hot longer than 5 to 7 minutes, don't get this one

I first bought this cup at a local box store. I like the ceramic for holding the temperature, the size is a little larger than most coffee cups and I like that. The rubber, silicone bottom prevents furniture damage and protects the cup. It's dishwasher safe. I don't use it as a travel mug, because I don't like to drink beverages when I am driving due to risk of accidents. It's my cup of choice for coffee at home. I broke my first cup by accident. Over all the cup is quite sturdy. 2026 UPDATE - ELLO JANE CERAMIC TRAVEL MUG (gray base): I have been using Ello Jane Ceramic Travel Mugs almost daily for many years as a home coffee mug. I don't use them as travel mugs as the handle doesn't fit in my SUV's cup holder. Replaced one I accidentally broke, and bought 6 more. Over all very sturdy. I wash them top rack in my dishwasher. One developed cracks inside on the bottom when I thoughtlessly put ice in a hot mug (no liquids in it). I had to discard the mug. Otherwise no scratching, chipping or cracking and the protective base is as good as new. Now more food safety conscious I searched to see if the mugs' ceramic glaze is certified lead-free and cadmium-free? I have "googled" with zero results. I went to the Ello Jane web site and found no mention the glaze at all. If the glaze is "Certified lead-free and cadmium-free, Ello Jane needs to post it on their web site and include that in the product description. In the absence of that, I am no longer using them and regrettably will have to discard them and will look for something else. I no longer recommend them as I don't know if they are chemically safe to use. I wish I had been more food safety aware before I bought them. If the absence of that certification isn't a concern for you then they are wonderful mugs.

I really liked the size and feel of this cup. It sits well on my desk and as a tea drinker, the capacity was unmatched. I returned the mug because it did not fit in my car cup holder and the top of difficult to seat properly on the top. If you want a large capacity mug for your desk this is a good choice. The travel part, maybe not so much.

A very nice mug. A bit bigger and heavier than expected, so I don’t really use it as a travel mug. It has, however, become my favourite mug to use at home and works well for my matcha lattes! Nice to use snd hold and drink from.
