Richardson Sheffield CU019 17.5 cm Cucina Santoku Knife, Silver

Comfortable, no nonsense knife that does everything you want it to easily..dry immediately after cleaning though or rust blooms appear on it high carbon content blade. Takes an holds a fine edge with a little patience. I have better . But I use this one the most because it's a pleasure to use in the kitchen.

This knife is of exceptional quality for the price, a good weight, well balanced, extremely sharp and easy to use. Would recommend

I'm giving this knife a 5 star review, not because it's perfect, far from it..but for the price it's exactly what I would expect it to be. It's sharp enough out of the box, and is strudy in the hand. I can't comment on longevity, but at the price, you could consider it a more 'disposable knife' and I wouldn't mind chucking this in a year to purchase another.

After struggling with those sets of 'chef' knives you can get for years, decided to try something that has been recommended to me numerous times by several keen home cooks i know as well as a chef. Have had my eye on a nice sontaku knife for a couple of years but it is expensive so wanted to get a more budget friendly option rather than spend all that money and realise it is not working as well as anticipated. My goodness, really should have taken their advice years ago. Chopping onions, peppers etc. is a breeze and even slices through tomatoes as if it was a hot knife cutting through butter. I would say it will be more than sufficient and will splash out on the posh knife when this one gives up the ghost but, initial impressions are it is going to last a long time as seems to be well built and Sheffield steel (is that still a thing, thought they shut down all the steel plants in sheffield ?), so can't see it needing replacing any time soon. Will come back and update this review should anything change.

I was given the impression that was made in Sheffield and that I was buying British. It’s not , on the back of the box in tiny writing are the words made in China , what’s more the knife was glued in to its carton and there was glue on the blade which is difficult to remove , and it’s blunt ,it doesn’t so much cut through a tomato but squashes it . Ok it’s not expensive but I expected a knife that does the job it was made for .I’m very disappointed both with the knife and the marketing which is misleading . I’m guessing they think that if they said made in China no one would buy it . The question is do you give your hard earned cash to someone that is not trustworthy.

Finalmente un coltello prodotto veramente in Gran Bretagna, e non importato dalla Cina. Buono il taglio, ottima la resistenza della lama. Qualità-prezzo eccezionale!
