Open Farm Grain Free Dry Cat Food, Turkey & Chicken Kibble, 8lb Bag

I used to buy Purina Beyond, but since it was discontinued I worried for my picky eater cat because she refused to eat any other food to the point of needing vet intervention. Well, I put some of this in my hand like I do for her treats and she ate it right up! She loved the taste so much so I Have started the transition and she’s doing well with no gastrointestinal issues (she also has a sensitive stomach and is 12 years old so the fact she was open to this new food at all was amazing). We are at 50/50 with this and her old food and she actually eats this side first which was my big sign that this worked out so well. I love that this food is humanely sourced and human grade ingredients with no byproduct meals. And for the price point, this is on par with brands you’d buy at your local Walmart or petco. Honestly the health of my babygirl has no price tag but it’s nice that I’m not breaking the bank. The kibble fits nicely in her automatic feeder and doesn’t get crushed or create a lot of food dust. She wasn’t able to rip through the bag (she didn’t try very hard but she did try a little so I was happy the bag held up before I put it in its container.) the bag looks nice, also has a bit more structure than the previous food I used and the way it’s shaped makes it easier to scoop the food. Will definitely be a continued buyer for open farm!

This is the best cat food ever! My cat’s coat and health has improved exponentially since switching to Open Farm. I am thrilled that it is so healthy and my cat loves it. I’m especially happy that it is helping to eliminate any concern for furballs. I’m assuming that is due to the pumpkin ingredient. My cat has long hair and that is something we have had to contend with in the past. Overall, I am very pleased with this food. Some may think it’s expensive, but I believe you get what you pay for. My cat is worth feeding a TRUE healthy product.

I have (2) tuxedos 13yrs and a 1yr old Maine Coone. They free feed this as their healthy dry kibble. They get wet chicken/turkey for meals. They really like it. It's not over cooked and crumbling. I am good with It's nutritious value and price. The cats enjoyed the box it came in too.

So the good news is that compare to Blue Buffalo Wilderness High Protein, Natural Kitten Dry Cat Food, Chicken 5-Lb that I bought and cans, this brand does not bloat and give GI issues (constipation) to my 9 mo old kitten. Always taste your cat's dry food, you don't have to swallow but just to know what quality it is. Buffalo Wilderness had no flavor, tasted like cardboard, and it was creating major insulin spikes and drops in my cat, she was either lethargic and sleeping or extra hyper and constantly meowing plus nonstop hungry so something in that other brand was triggering her constant hunger, terrible. Don't recommend the wilderness brand. This open farm brand actually has fish flavor, but it also has a bit of salt I can pick up on so I'm not sure how much salt cats need but I hope it's not too salty. My plan is to mix it with a non salt kibble to dilute it in case it's too salty. My cat's belly and her entire body doesn't swell, usually with too much salt just like people cats would retain too much water but she looks great and her energy level is normal, no spikes. This is new food for her to will watch how it goes, so far so good. Definitely recommend for those who feed their young cats normal amount of kibble 1/3 cup (she's small) and I highly recommend giving half a can of wet food per day so lower the kibble amount and supplement with wet. All cats need to have some wet/soft food in their system for healthy GI.

I am moving abroad so my cat will be staying with a friend until I am able to bring my cat with me. My friend said they use this for their cats, so to keep it consistent I decided to transition my cat over to this. He had been using Stella and Chewys salmon kibble previously. I mixed half of his usual stuff with half of this and he chowed down! He has a food dispenser that is timed and portions out his meals. After eating he tried getting into the machine - he must have REALLY liked this kibble. I packed away the rest of this bag with some other things im taking to my friends house (my cats clothing, toys, treat, etc). My cat found the bag of food (wrapped in a few other bags) and TORE THROUGH THE BAGS TO GET INTO THIS ONE!!!! He has only ever done that to some churu treats he likes. He has never done it to his bagged kibble. This is more expensive than what i usually get, but im glad i switched over. My friend said he likes giving his cat the "bougie" stuff, and it makes sense. I dont think ill be able to get this stuff abroad, so i hope i can find a good alternative when my cat joins me, because he REALLY likes this and its only been 3 days.

So far, so good. My cat was prescribed very expensive probiotic food. He finished that and I decided to look for a more cost effective version going forward. This fit the bit with it's clean list of ingredients. We are only a couple days in, but he seems very pleased with the taste and so far his bowel movements are healthy so hopefully that remains the case.

He cracked out or this. ALSO I noticed they changed the dicalcium phosphate to D-calcium Pantothente. I think that's a good change? I don't think it's reflecting on the ingredients list on amazon (speculating that it's a super new change so they might sill have the previous one the inventory orrrr that they just forgot to change it here loool) I do see the change on their open farm website though. I did knock off a point when they asked to rate value for money, although a great kibble, I do think it's a wee bit overpriced but I repurchase so it's got 4 stars on value for money (I plan on trying their rawmix kibble next though). Overall, this is a hit with my kitkat! I top this kibble off with freeze dried and serve it with warm water added into the bowl itself (and there's also a water fountain by his bowl too). He's happy❤️

Good food ,cats like it,has an inviting smell to them. They are having a tuff time with tiny morsels getting stuck between their teeth. Wish they would rethink shape and size of the kibble. Also I feel its a tad pricey for the small amount. I wanted to try the one with the freeze dried chunks in it but the reviews are so bad I stayed away from that. I kind of expected a better product considering all the awards they are supposed to have gotten for their product. I will add I find choosing/sourcing a truly good, trustworthy,safe,healthy,kidney friendly,cat food akin to finding a freaking Unicorn!!!
