Very impressive sealant. Was researching sealant to sort out a slight issue with a concrete birdbath that I'd had for years. An issue had occurred as my scrubbing of the birdbath to keep it clean had clearly worn away the original sealed surface! (The RSPB etc always advise keeping all bird feeding stuff - inc. birdbaths - thoroughly clean to avoid spreading anything nasty to our wildlife but it seems that I may have scrubbed too hard!) My birdbath surface was so bad that the water was turning murky and the concrete literally looked like it was breaking down and dissolving! The surface was so broken that it really needed stabilising before sealing . . . and by the time I looked at the various products I figured that it might just be time to get a new birdbath. As I was able to get a 'sample' size of this sealant - which should be enough to cover it several times over I gave it a go and was rewarded with what now looks like a new birdbath but still with the character of the old! I simply waited for a very dry day and brushed off as much of the loose concrete dust as I could and then set to work. I put on an initial fairly thick layer as it did soak in quite quickly. In accordance with the instructions I waited just about an hour (maybe less as it was a warm dry day so dried off quickly) and recoated. For good measure I then did a third coat - just to ensure it was really well sealed - and left to really dry out in the fresh air for a good 24 hours. The result was amazing. I now have a really sound surface (even where there were previously some small areas of cracking around the tiny pebbles exposed in the concrete mix!) and am back to scrubbing my birdbath with no sign of the surface breaking down at all. Even better - there is probably still enough in the sample bottle to recoat again if it ever needs it. Overall - very happy indeed with this product. Excellent quality, easy to apply, gave a brilliant finish, water ran straight off it when I did a 'test' spray with a hose, and being able to buy this small 'tester' bottle for little jobs was ideal. I would certainly recommend it.

Does exactly... 'what it says on the tin'.. but a bit expensive for my liking.. especially, as feels like you're painting water on the concrete. That said, it was exactly what I needed, to then fit/stick a threshold door seal on top of an old concrete garage floor, and in combination prevent wind blown water ingress. Held-up very well during recent Heavy rain c. 3" in 24hr - definitely water resistant.

Does exactly what it says on the bottle! Very effective! I bought it to seal a concrete bird bath where the water seemed to evaporate very quickly. Having applied this product i no longer have a problem. It was very easy to apply, dried within the stated time and is transparent, so did not affect the look of the bird bath.

I bought this to treat a new patio, because [A] it's expensive, so it must be good right? and [B] the photo's show water 'beading on the treated concrete.' Well, it doesn't! It's had two coats, I've hosed down the rest of the patio, and when it's dried I'll put some more down, but so far I am totally underwhelmed by the results. If things get any better I'll revisit this review to edit it...

Easy to apply, very effective sealer. Does not change surface colour.

Purchased the Smartseal sample bottle to seal a birdbath and as well as sealing it to keep the water in the water seems to stay a lot clearer as well with no green algea forming, the bottle goes a long way even after 2 coats the bottle is still half full.

Took 3 coats to seal the concrete birdbath - looking ok so far (after 2 days).
