the molded seat...no seam to hurt a patient with loose skin. no assembly was awesome.
I am an RN. The most common problem with MOST cushion seats is a SEAM that can hurt the patient with loose/elderly skin. This commode is the BEST chair we have ever purchased (we have a collection due to my mother is 100 years young). The seat is molded without a seam that would hurt her skin. The padded product they use, cleans up so great. it is thick and durable. The drop down arms are a great technology, so easy for the person transferring. They click back in with ease. It came assembled...what a plus for the busy life we have. They used pegs for adjustable height, which is simplifying finding the correct height. Some company's are using screws which are labor intensive for a person transferring at different heights. Such a stable SAFE product.

Comfort, Safety and Versatility!
I originally bought this for use as just a shower chair and it was great for that and fit in my shower perfectly. The seat, back, and arms are very comfortable and not too slick, or cold. I have had to move this into being a toilet chair recently and it is perfect for me to transfer from my electric wheelchair to this as it sits over the toilet. Finally I am safe from falling, or trying to navigate a standing transfer. The front cut out allows for personal cleaning. Putting it together was a snap and it adjusts easily for height. It is sturdy and safe for either shower, or over the toilet use. It's surface is easy to clean. It has also been used as a commode chair outside of the bathroom and it worked awesome for that too. The collection bowl while a bit tricky to slide in at times is easy to slide out and to clean without too much fuss. (adding a disposable bag might make it even easier for some, but it worked fine without) I am very pleased with the versatility and safety of this item and it works great for all it's uses in and out of the bathroom. I would highly recommend!

Good Product, but Needs Some Improvements
The UltraCommode is reasonably well constructed. The open front of the seat makes this commode more comfortable for an adult male (my Father) than the round seat standard types (i.e. Drive). I feel the unit was a good purchase overall; however there are some issues which must be mentioned. First, although this commode does fold away, it requires significantly more effort to set-up and break down verses many budget models. One must loosen/tighten (6) knobs, then fold or unfold both legs and the seat back - inserting or removing each of (6) posts into/out of their receiver tubes each time. Sometimes the legs and/or seat back bind up when inserting into the receiver tubes and it can be a bit annoying. Comparatively, I also have a Drive budget commode, which only requires the depression of (2) spring loaded pins to disassemble - essentially it is instantaneous. Second, the shape/size of the seat cut-out is less than ideal. Please note that you MUST correctly position the user on the seat or you WILL have spillage (as I have experienced already). If the user's buttocks is too far aft, you can potentially have #2 spillage. If the user is too far forward, you will likely have #1 spillage, One must check the user's position very carefully each time. Third, the collection bowl should be deeper in the rear (instead of sloped downward) and longer overall as it adds to the critical positioning required by this commode. Please bear in mind that as a care-giver you cannot simply drop off your care-recipient and let them "go" - you MUST check that they are sitting correctly - trust me!! Finally, the seat has a flat bottom that mates to the tubing. This leaves an area of exposure, which may present a hygienic issue over time and make cleaning very difficult. I believe the manufacturer should affix a chute or cladding to cover this area (conforming to the seat cut-out) and provide a smooth, uninterrupted surface for easy cleaning. I purchased this commode as the round seat units tend to be a bit too restrictive for an adult male; this unit replicates an actual semi-elongated toilet experience from the feedback I've received from Dad. I think this unit is a bit pricey, but it does seem to be well made and will hopefully last for some years.

Best Shower Chair on the Market
We purchased this shower chair for my father in law who is 89 and in assisted living. It's extremely sturdy and comfortable to sit in with nice padding on the seat, back and arm rests. The arm rests raise and lower so it's easier to get in the chair and then lower the arm rest down once you're comfortable. For someone transferring from a wheelchair this is a must have item. The back raises and lowers for maximum comfort. It's very sturdy getting in and out of and that is a huge comfort after he almost fell trying to get into his other shower chair which was wobbly and unsteady. The only concern we had was that it was not available for Prime shipping, but the chair still came within 5 days of ordering, including a weekend, so it was received pretty quickly. I would highly recommend this item for anyone looking for a shower chair that's sturdy, steady and well made. (NOTE: Item was not needed for a toilet chair so I'm unable to rate on it's capabilities as a toilet chair).

Best Shower Chair we've used so far.
This Shower Chair is the best we've used for our paraplegic family member, who weighs 230 lbs and cannot stand . Transferring could be easier however if the swing up arm was wider or ?? for LEAVING the shower chair. To get on from the wheelchair is easy but leaving the shower chair poses a problem with the transfer board. We have to put the transfer board in from the front of the family member's legs, then flip the arm up, then slide the transfer board sideways, getting it both under the legs, and to the wheelchair, which bridges the shower rim, to get him into the wheelchair. Our shower is also HIGHER than the floor next to it so we cut the adjustable legs with a hack saw, and now it is lower-and level with the wheelchair. He says it is much more comfortable and ergonomic than all the other Commode/shower chairs we've used to date. Regarding softness of the seat: It is not soft like commode padded seat, it isn't hard like a wooden/plastic toilet seat, it is slightly soft and molded well, but very firm. It cleans easily, seems much stronger than our previous seats (one actually broke when a cheap plastic fastener cracked and split- under the seat - during a transfer ! ) and it doesn't rust all over the shower. We purchased the Blue chair and would recommend this one over all the others because it is well made . Wish we had bought this one first.

Surprising Product
I don’t write reviews. I do read 1-4 star reviews but not 5 stars. This is a 5 star review. I put it under 3 star only so that you would read it. I’m pretty grumpy and hard to please and was almost talked out of this product by the other grumpy’s writing reviews. #1 This is nothing short of a great product. #2 My biggest concern was “would it fit over the commode?” I did the measurements they suggested and it fits like a glove. 3# I was worried the padding might be too soft and I’d feel a sharp edge inside. Nope. It’s perfect. Firmer than I thought. #4 Stability could not be better with the angled legs. The arms are rock sturdy. #5 Set up is almost nothing but read instructions. I always do. #6 Yes it’s pricy but and this little guy and I are gonna be going at it daily for the rest of my life and it was worth it to me. I’m confident I won’t need to buy another. It built to last. Hope this was helpful

Size, comfort, beware return shipping policy
One of 2 chair models we tried from this company. Both were very disappointing. Seat uncomfortable. One size does not fit all. This chair fits larger people, but is not adjustable for people who are smaller, such as 5'4", 100 lb. Thus the back support is too far back for someone small, even with the legs at the lowest setting. This puts the body in an awkward position for a female, so that urine splashes forward and out of the angled bucket! Use a chuck underneath if you use this chair. The arms are far too short and do not offer enough support from side to side, especially if you do not have good core strength to sit upright and not lean to the side. Make triple sure that this is 110% definitely the item you want, because even if your return is approved, you are responsible for the full cost of shipping for returns, which is very expensive.

Comfy and Well made.
Paul finally relented and said he needed a shower chair. Expensive but Worth it! Very comfortable, very sturdy, looks nice and actually was easy to Put Together!! It's solid, strong and having those chair arms that can move either down or up out of the way really helps. The commode part isn't needed so for now I just stored that in a closet. It's also useful for sitting on while dressing as it can be moved around with ease.
