SANDISK SD UHS-I Card Reader - SDDR-C531-GNANN

The Sundisk SD Card reader is a decent product for what it is for the price. It reads all my SD cards with no issues at all for as long as the partitions are there. USB-A, which is a plus as of this moment for any computer that accepts it. But the thing is a bit on the tight side when inserting SD cards in it to be read for any computer that don't got a built-in SD card reader. So careful when inserting and uninserting SD cards with this thing. When engaged, the thing sticks out real wide. If your ports are to the left or right than top and bottom, ya will need to disengage the other device from the other port to use this device to do what ya got to do with the SD card. Works great. Gets the job done for the price. But has its own trade offs when using it.

All others small, inexpensive readers are second rate. I'll buy another of these without hesitation because of quality and speed. People have complained about how hard it is to put the SC card into this reader. The card takes some up/down, side to side maneuvering; but once in, the card seats solidly in the device and does not fall out. Because it was a little tight the first time, I slid the card in and out about 7-8 times, and while it continued to be challenging to get in or out, I learned what it takes to get the card in and out. A slight inconvenience, but not a stopper. It downloaded 2.5 Gb in about 20 seconds over a USB2 port on a desktop PC running Windows 10. (I don't have a USB3 port.) I was able to play the video from card with a simple double click. Then, I copied the file into my PC's Videos file, and was able to play it from there with a double click. Later, I clicked on several files on the card and dragged them to a file on my computer. In short, it works great. I didn't notice any lag and don't expect to. Great little piece of equipment. I purchased 2 card readers. I was a little nervous because both readers are used. They both looked in new condition, no scratches or visible damage of any kind. I tested the read speed immediately with 2 Sandisc 125 GB Extreme cards. They matched my existing 2 readers exactly. So I am very happy with them. They both behaved like new. Excellent value.

This reader is much faster with Sandisk cards than my older reader, you really notice the difference. However, the cards are difficult to push in and out. I want to get inside and maybe sand the sides down a bit. It just needs a little more width inside the card slot and it would be fine. Either that or just pushing the cards in and out will wear either the side of the cards or the reader down.

Needed a new SD card reader and have had bad luck with many of the very-cheap readers on the market not liking my computer's USB ports. This OTOH was fine right out of the box and so far has been reliable.

This is a tiny item that does what it says. You may want to get a USB extender cable if your USB port is in an inconvenient location just for ease of access. It is a tiny bit difficult getting the SD card into the opening, but just apply a little bit of effort and it is not an issue. It transfers files fast enough for me, that's what matters. Recommended if you have the matching SD cards that take advantage of its speed.

SAN DISK is a good name to trust in the adaptation field. Everything I've ever purchased from San Disk has been perfectly functional.

No problems. Better than one knock off I have that event though the card was in locked position the card reader still managed to destroy a memory card..

It is fast and reliable. The slot is a bit tight, you have to use a little bit of force to get the card in but it works great.

Very happy about the speed of transfer.
