Fida Retractable Dog Leash, 16 ft Dog Walking Leash for Small Dogs up to 26 lbs, 360° Tangle Free, Black

I retired recently and started taking 3 walks a day. I have 3 dogs ranging from 15 to 90 lbs & each dog gets 1 walk per day. My old Flexi leash is 20+ years old and wasn't designed for large dogs so I opted to buy a replacement. There are so many options with a range in prices. Initially, I opted for a brand (not this one) that also makes other pet items and the brand name was familiar to me. That leash only lasted 5 months until it locked permanently and I had to throw it away. I will compare this new leash to the known brand which I had to throw away. Immediately, this leash felt sturdy, with a nice weight in my hand. The other brand felt cheap, lightweight, and flimsy. This leash strap pulls in and out with ease as my dogs run around & explore. The other leash felt flimsy as it pulled in and out and I questioned when it would stop retracting. (The old leash permanently locked itself after only 5 months of use.) The button to stop the leash and release it is comfortable to push and release as I control my dogs while walking. Someone's review said the button was awkward, which I found the opposite to be true. Also, my other leash kept auto-locking when the dogs jerked it or I pulled quickly due to an upcoming hazard. Auto-locking is unsafe and you lose control right when you need it. This leash's button pushes and releases naturally to give you the control exactly when you need it. It seems sturdy and long-lasting. The other one kept auto-locking until it auto-locked permanently after only 5 months of use. I haven't used the lock on this leash as I rarely find that feature necessary. I only use an extendable leash when I want to allow my dogs freedom to run, but still be safe. I use a regular leash / lead for more controlled situations (groomer, vet's office, etc.). If you have a chewer, this leash does come with a short extension that is chew-proof to attach at the end of the leash. I haven't used it as I don't need it, but it certainly would come in handy with a new puppy learning to walk on a leash. I've only used it for 5 walks so far, but I really feel it'll last.

This is an excellent version of this product. I always bought the Flexi brand but after using my last one to its irretractable death, I decided to try this Fida Brand and I am so happy I did. Excellent quality and great value. The black ribbon like extension tape is strong and functional. The handle part is perfect and the lock buttons work great. I bought a small Black one for my small dog. I have used it for about 20 times and so far it's excellent!

downside: it seems a little flimsy. upside, it is light and have not broken even though I have dropped it a few times. Seems like a good value.

Locking mechanism could be better, overall a solid price point. Leash is nice and long and the color looks great at night.

I have used many retractable leashes with many dogs. This leash is my favorite. It works so smoothly and easily.

The design was good & retractability was excellent. Safety was a huge factor for me buying this as our pup (1yo) is just learning leash training. We thought the feature of the leash extender to hamper chewing was a really great idea. We haven’t used it long enough to judge durability that seems to be average. The housing of the retractor might not be sturdy enough for our rowdy guy, but overall we are very pleased.

This is a nice retractable dog leash for my yorkies. I normally preferred the 25 foot variety but this gives them just enough room so as not to get tangled. Love the cute little cherries on cream coloring motif. Past ones the cords were thinner than this one. This cord is cherry colored and is very sturdy and heavier. Nicely thought out and designed for everyday use. It retracts well. There is no installation required as it is ready to go upon arrival. It came beautifully packaged in a box and included a strong anti-chewing steel wire to attach on the end if you have one of those pups. So when you stop to talk to someone and are distracted, they may try, but they won't be able to chew themselves off leash. Very well thought out. And there is a nicely written user manual. Small, but readable and has some nice pictures as well. The anti-chew cord has a diagram showing optimal useage. I have had many brands over the years and many sizes but this is a good one and is very comfortable in the hand. Braking mechanism works as it should. Very nice I would say for XS to Sm/med pets. Could be a nice gift for a new pet owner, friend or family member with pets.

I like that it has reflective strips in the leash but not sturdy for my super chewer puppy who always seems to want to grab onto the leash above the extension designed for chewing. After only 1 use it’s already starting to wear out but it’s because my puppy won’t chew on the extension. I wish they made one that was chew resistant on all parts.

Such a beautiful and soft colour, I love it. It works really well and it’s relatively lightweight, it’s a smaller one compared to other types out there which is exactly what I wanted. Love it
