Bordette Decorative Border, 2-1/4" x 25', Metallic Black, 1 Roll

Great addition to a bulletin board to clean up the edges.

The bordette was not cut well, so the curved edges would tear when dividing the two halves. Also, there was about half the length that I expected, but that was my fault for not reading the details.

I bought four rolls. One of the rolls separated beautifully. The other three had to be hand cut and still suffered tears. I’m guessing the cutting machine used during manufacturing was not consistently making effective cuts.

Appearance was fine right out of the package but when I tried to separate the pieces they did not come apart cleanly. All the edges look ragged. I won’t even attempt to keep this and re-use it. For the record, I’ve been a teacher for 31 years and put up lots of bulletin boards, but I’ve never before purchased border that wouldn’t tear cleanly on the perforations. The one I bought was labeled “metallic” and has a plastic-like finish. Hopefully other (matte) borders by this manufacturer aren’t so bad, but this is the worst I’ve ever used.

Make sure to measure how much you need because there was not nearly enough to do a bulletin board. I like matte colors and this one had a sheen to it I didn’t care for. I don’t mean laminated sheen more like a high gloss sheen. Also when you try to remove the staple some of the black came off leaving a very visible white background. This is a one time use border.
