I purchased this item because Dell did not have an OEM adapter/charger for an Alienware X17 R1 in stock. It was approximately half the price that I had expected to pay for a charger from Dell. It performs adequately which is the only important feature of the charger.

Voltage and current available are right, and the connector is the right size, right polarity. It was a trick finding one with all of that. I was a little concerned about it having the center pin, As the Chicony power supply that came with the computer does not, but it works fine. It's running on it now. The pin is for some kind of communication on certain laptops from what I've read. Good price too. I keep monitor, KB, mouse, and power supply at two different locations that I travel between, so now I'm set. Oh, and the white ring on the DC connector lights up. Pretty cool. Longevity? We'll see.

My Dell G15 came with a comically large power supply. Like I got stopped at the airport for supplemental screening because TSA thought I was smuggling electronics. The agent said he’d never seen a laptop charger as big as that one. I agreed. Not since the early 2000’s when my Uniwill 17” laptop was all state of the art and needed a massive power brick anyway. So needless to say this slim power supply is much better than the included one. It keeps the laptop running full power and isn’t so heavy as to unbalance a suitcase.

This wouldn't turn on at all. I didn't find out until after 30 days due to traveling.

I bougth a new Alienware M18. The Dell charger was rediculous to say the least. I bought this one to travel with and it is excellent. Way smaller and the curved edges make it an ideal fit, plus the loss of some pounds is helpful. Side Note, outside of North America Dell ships the smaller charger, just another way to bleed the American consumer.
