Nicer than I thought it would be!
So much better than I thought it would be. Purchased to film church services since we are currently under stay-at-home orders. Really helps the editing process. I also purchased a second on Amazon (by Neweer) which was not as sturdy and didn’t come with the markers or eraser. If you’re trying to decide which to purchase, this would be my choice. (Keep in mind, we are using it one day a week, 5-10 times on that day, for about the last 4 weeks now.)

Makes the workflow easier
Bought this slate to use with my production crew. Sent them out to shoot b-roll. By tagging each shot using this slate, I was able to find my footage faster when editing. Was definitely worth the cost.

Get this one!
Watch video comparison versus the Neewer board. Both about the same construction and sturdiness. But the TYCKA board actually erases, so it can be used in filming. (Note: I scraped off "CAM" on the TYCKA board and used a Sharpie to write "SHOT" -- that's a mod which works better for me. The "CAM" scraped off easily with a knife, which makes e think the printing on the board will wear off over time. But I can always Sharpie it.)

Cracked on the bottom on the first time I used it. And the screws come loose a lot. But it’s so cheap, so who cares.

Great quality
I did't expect much when it got here. But I was surprised it got here on time and there's nothing broken. Clean and tried the pen the ink level is normal and works really well.

Perfect budget slate for students
I’m a film student and this was perfect for the short film I just had to make. Great for price and quality

Has a really good size to it.
I belong to an improv troupe where we play a game called Director's Cut. We use this clapper as a transition between scenes. I love that it comes with the markers so we can quickly add the audience suggestion to it and personalize the experience. It definitely adds a personal touch to the form.

Durable? Not if you're on location for more than a day
I liked the fact that it's white and erases easily without smearing. It's got a nice magnet in the clapper and comes with a couple of pens, and eraser and some allen wrenches. But those 3 screws that hold it all together didn't last through one full day in an outdoor shoot. Oh sure the slate didn't get set down on a pillow gently after each take, but it wasn't thrown around either. By the end of the 10 hour shoot outdoors, one screw was mysteriously missing it's cap/nut. Bummer. The other two nuts were loose as ever so we tightened them down and now we'll be heading to Home Depot to try to find a small nut to tie us over for day 2. But man, I wish this was a bit stronger or came with some replacement hardware if it was gonna be so loosely tightened from the start.

Great little clapboard slate. It wipes absolutely clean unlike other dry erase boards. Seems to be sturdy and I have used it a number of times. Highly recommend.

I am very pleased with this. I like that it came with an Allan key to tighten the board.

Works great, nice magnet to hold it shut. Markers are cheap and died quickly. Kit comes with allen key to tighten the screws that come loose. Great prop or actual clapper.
