We’ve been using Zen Principle’s charcoal for awhile and love using it for teeth whitening and face masks. Our only issue was the foil pouch it came in. As many know, charcoal can be messy to use and the pouch sometimes made it worse. Just opening or closing the zipper would often cause clouds of charcoal to go up into air, leaving a mess everywhere. We were willing to deal with that issue since the charcoal does an amazing job of removing coffee stains from our teeth and my girlfriend loves how soft and clean it makes her skin when used in face masks. Needless to say, we were excited to see that Zen has introduced a new version with a plastic container which they said would finally address this problem. And it’s true: Inside is the same amazing ‘magic’ black dust. But it is now SO much easier to use than before. The container is easy to open and close tightly without producing a cloud of dust each time. Plus, the wider mouth on the jar means you can use the scoop (included with purchase) to get to the charcoal without covering your hands in more dust. You should still use it over the sink to minimize clean-up, but we can finally use it without putting reams of paper towels around the bathroom floor to catch all the falling dust. It’s great that Zen Principle listened to their customers and came out with this improved packaging. If you’ve been holding off on trying it because of the horror stories about the mess it creates, now is the time to give it a try! Hopefully it works for you as well as it does for us.

Bought this a while ago and just used it for the first time two days ago. This particular product is high quality. There are a couple things you should know before using: - It is extremely fine particulate. Breathing heavily on it will send it flying. It will make a mess. Just count on that. Be prepared to scrub your hands, or whatever container you are using. If you touch anything while using it, you'll get soot on that as well. I knew this going in and just prepared myself for the inconvenience. - It DOES whiten teeth. I am a heavy coffee drinker and had some staining from this. The first time after use, it had already removed some of these stains. I put about a tsp into a tupperware and put JUST A LITTLE water into it. I stirred this mixture to create a paste and LIGHTLY brushed it onto the teeth, letting it sit for about 5 minutes. You'll have to rinse multiple time and swish to get all of the charcoal off your teeth. - This can be taken safely internally. I started with 1 lrg tsp in a cup of cold water.

I love this product SO much!!! I've used it three times on my teeth and they've gotten so much whiter! I drink a few cups of coffee a day so I was definitely getting yellow! I have porcelain molar crowns and I try to avoid putting the charcoal on them because they're in the back anyways but also because I'm scared of staining. I've read online (not this specific product) activated charcoal can stain... well I have not noticed any stains on my crowns and well I feel like if anything my white bathroom counter top is whiter after cleaning it off haha. This product is wonderful I've only tried it for the teeth and face mask and omg the face mask is phenomenal!!! My blackheads are disappearing and I look like I'm glowing and my skin is so soft, I've been mixing aloe Vera gel and water....scared to try coconut cause I'm not sure if it will make me breakout but I've heard coconut oil is amazing, PS shave your legs with coconut oil and you will never go back to shaving cream....EVER! Anyways I sort of got all over the place by this product is a definite buy, everyone should have this in their house! Also got an e book emailed about all the things you can do it with it!

The product works really well for face masks and ingested for bowel issues (as directed), though, because the powder is very fine it can make a mess of you're not careful opening the canister. Also, be conservative when using in face masks and don't use without an oil or clay (kaolin or bentonite etc) base, or it will make a huge mess once you wash it off and color everything (clothes/bathroom counter/EVERYTHING).

The seller is great and sent me a booklet about additional usages of this material. I bought this product for a specific purpose - I have digestive problems that I have not been able to tackle with conventional methods, and the charcoal is actually my last ditch effort. Whether it will cure the issue, I am not entirely sure, but I was super pleased to receive information via email about other things I can do with this product - it is a large canister!! (not very messy if you don't open it right after it arrives in the mail :) - let it settle out - the charcoal is dusty!), and I had wondered what else to do with this; but after reading the information in the booklet, I found several uses that will certainly become part of my "alternative" life style. Mainly, there was a recipe about whitening toothpaste which I made and it works great - although, I added a bit of myrrh powder (something else I had ordered for my digestive problems) and peppermint essential oil. Thank you! Now, I just have to convince my husband that putting this black paste on his teeth really does make them fabulously white. I have only used the "toothpaste" one week, but I am seeing a huge difference! As for my digestive issues, I will have to report back - have not had product long enough to see if my intestine is any happier.

A bit messy and was actually intriguing to see blackened mouth while brushing,,, but it cleaned stains from coffee and liquid turmeric supplement that I drink daily! I also used it to brush and clean my doggo baby's teeth and it removed the yellow plaque build-ups that I haven't been able to remove with few teeth cleaning solutions for dogs. Since it's used for indigestion, etc.. and other oral / ingestion medicinal purposes, I'm sure it's safe for dogs also. Ps., the black spots at the gum line is the charcoal residue.

I've had something "go wrong" with my digestive system. It's like I've become food intolerant. My stomach is fine in the morning, until I eat. All foods are taking longer (sometimes much longer!) to digest...even when I regularly take really good (often expensive) digestive enzymes in a spectrum of types, and HCL, in case it's a low stomach acid problem. (I'm 47.). The worst, and most noticeable, problem is the gassiest stomach I've ever had in my life. So uncomfortable, and so embarrassing, and so unrelenting. It is normal to pass air 13-21 times a day. After eating (and for the rest of the day!!) I was doing that every hour! (Sorry, TMI) NOTHING I have tried works like this activated charcoal to give me my normal, comfortable stomach and entire digestive system back. I drink a slightly heaped half teaspoon mixed in water, with plenty of water after. I am in excellent health (just had a baby at almost 46!)and normal weight...125 at 5'8" tall. (Activated charcoal makes you thirsty when ingested, and you MUST drink extra, or become dehydrated.). I do this before eating in the morning, and wait at least an hour to eat after. It has completely reversed my problem. I am reading everything I can find about activated charcoal now, because my problem stomach has been almost unbearable for months!! One dose of activated charcoal (not even the full dose listed on the bottle) and I have a normal stomach for 24 hours. Even drinking milk. Even eating grains and beans. Try it for digestion and gassiness. It's inexpensive, and you'll be reading everything activated charcoal-related too!!
