MySit 2" Replacement Office Chair or Stool Caster Wheels - with Brake (Set of 5)

“MySit” Breaking Casters Are the best breaking casters for the following five reasons: 1. I wanted to make sure I had a set of 5 breaking casters because I waned to replace all five casters with breaking casters. If you have all five casters with brakes, then no matter what position the five legs of the base end up in you can just look straight down from where you’re sitting on a chair or stool and engage 2 of the five casters so the chair won’t move on you! If you don’t have five breaking casters on a five leg chair, then to engage say the two of casters that you replaced with breaking casters, you would have to rotate the base around to find the two breaking casters or rotate your seat around to find the two casters that you need to break, which would be too much hassle! 2. The reason I purchased these casters on Amazon with brakes is that when you engage the brake on each caster, the brake stops the motion on both the left and the right wheel on each caster, which would give you much more breaking power! Actually double the breaking power on a caster that would only break one wheel per caster for instance. 3. We put these casters on a five legged chair with an office chair mat and just engaging the brakes on two of the five wheels works very well because the chair does not slide around or move when you sit down on it or get up from it it stays in place well. 4. We replaced a good set of carpet casters just like this with the brakes that is on a heavy duty chair, and these casters with brakes are structurally as strong as the heavy duty ones we replaced. 5. We like these so well, I ordered another set of these breaking casters to put on a heavy duty salon stool with five legs to use on our kitchen floors with no carpet, of course! 6. I recommend you buy a long handled “back scratcher”made out of wood from Amazon to engage the brakes and disengage the brakes so you don’t have to reach down near the floor to engage them or disengage the breaks on at least 2 braking casters!

I needed some new wheels for the over the bed tray. These work great and it’s great to have five locking wheels that work perfectly. It was delivered within two days with prime and it’s a great price. I am very pleased.

TL;DR: They work fine, but as another reviewer mentioned, it is very easy to lock the brake unintentionally. I bought these for a CUBOC Office Chair I bought on Amazon back in 2016. I needed them because I got a Logitech Racing Wheel with Pedals and was unable to use my chair because I would roll back when aggressively braking or mashing the clutch pedal. Fortunately, these office chair wheels with brakes, work quite well--I can now comfortably use my office chair with my racing peripherals. It's a plus that the wheels only cost about $14, much cheaper than getting another chair. Note: If you try hard enough, however, you will still be able to slide a little bit (for reference I'm on hardwood flooring). My issue with these wheels is that it is easy to unintentionally lock the wheels. If you sit further back in your office chair (so the chair can support your back), your feet will sit closer to the wheels and makes it easy to unintentionally lock the wheels.

Why did you pick this product vs others?: I wanted casters for a desk chair with brakes. The ones that came with the chair had no brakes and the chair kept rolling away making it dangerous to use.

I bought these wheels for my desk chair which did not have wheel locks originally on them. I use my chair on a mat so that my carpet doesn't get messed up. The wheels fit in perfectly to my chair, the lock holds chair in place so I don't slide, however, it isn't too strong to where I can't move the chair if I need to, and there is no noise when rolling the chair around with the lock not set. The value for these wheels is perfect!

This caster seems deigned for routine/default use with the wheels locked. It perfectly matches the appearance of the existing casters on my office chair and, but for this design feature, would exactly address my desire to have a functional wheel brake for occasional use. To release the wheel brake on this design a tab on the shield above the wheel tread is snapped upward. In this position, I find that it is easily and frequently struck by the heel of your shoe when moving the chair while seated, which activates the (very effective) wheel brake. I only infrequently require and set the wheel brakes and find myself constantly having to reset the tabs to the "up" position to keep the chair moving freely. I believe a better design would provide a catch or latch to hold the tab in the up position or would reverse the operating positions, making the tab "up" position the wheel locked position.

These are universal wheels indeed...as described. Just pull out the standard wheels from most computer chairs of the same wheel style and pop these in. It was that easy! No tools required. It took minutes to change all five wheels. Super easy. I bought these wheels because of the locking feature. Very simple design - click down to lock or lift tab up to release. That's it! Very sturdy and locks in place with so little effort.
