Recommended, motor to follow when it snows!
We installed these on a north facing valley of our roof to help prevent ice damming. Last year we had 100 inches cumulative of snow for the season and developed an issue. We are hoping these will help elevate the issue. They seem to be well made and robust. We also installed one in a driveway channel drain and I can say it has worked well keeping the drain ice free. At this point I would recommend the product.

Well made and sturdy
Well made, sturdy, and holding up well so far. The quality definitely seems to be there. We use them in a rain gutter and leave them in place year 'round. We've had others failure after just a year but this one soldiers into its second winter undeterred. I really, really like that they offer so many lengths as well. This allowed me to conveniently locate the power source and run the heat tape out from there.

Excellent product with nice indicators at the plug and end to indicate the heat tape is powered
We added an additional downspout and the installation of HeatTape Pro to deal with a recurring ice damming problem on our roof. High points: - Well made product from a USA company - Light indicator at both the plug and far end of the HeatTape Pro wire to indicate the unit is powered - Detailed installation manual (but would have been nice to see this ahead of purchase) Other points: - Does not include the required clips and hangers for mounting the HeatTape on a roof and in gutters - It's much easier to install the product if it's been fully unwound and straightened out - The length estimating tools were OK, but it would have been nice to have photos that highlight the different installation scenarios overlayed with line drawings to show the actual installation location of the product. - I took photographs and measurements of my home prior to installation and then printed and drew on the printout the route that the wire would take to get to all of the required roof, valley, gutter areas, and plug/power outlet.

Really should have been a 5-star, but....
We install heat tape professionally as part of our rain gutter business. We have installed miles of the stuff, and this is absolutely one of our favorite pre-built options. It's the flat commercial style and it seems to work well - our customers here have loved it so far - and Utah winters are brutal. Built well, installs smoothly, arrived quickly, we absolutely love this brand and its our go-to if we don't just build our own. So why not 5 stars then? Two reasons - first, it doesn't come with basic roof clips. Why? Because since this is commercial, the roof-clip makers take you to the cleaners. They are SUPER expensive when you are doing a large job. However, for the price I'm paying I would expect some included. Second, and I say this a lot, but I think this tape is over priced per linear foot. We usually just buy a spool and cut/build our own (which doesn't take long), but we've been so busy lately that it's easier to just buy what we need pre-assembled. It has some downsides, such as all the extra "wasted" tape you have to shove in the downspout - but paid a premium price for. When you build your own, you make it exactly the right size and don't waste tape. So we will try to build as much as we can, but if they offered this wholesale in bulk and made it more competitive, I'd just buy this for every install - its a great product and I highly recommend it.

Great Product and Excellent Customer Service
I purchased the 100' and the 150' Heat Tape Pro for my home and couldn't be happier with the products and the customer service. I have a 4/12 roof pitch (i.e., fairly flat) and we get a lot of wet snow where I live. Prior to installing the heat tape, I was on the roof several times each winter shoveling or sweeping snow off the north side because it gets very little sun and the snow would accumulate in the valleys and gutters where it would freeze. The Heat Tape Pro product surpasses the quality of other heat tape I have seen and it works well on my roof, so much so, I no longer have to get on my roof in the winter. A feature on the Heat Tape Pro that Radiant Solutions Company calls a "GlowCap" illuminates to let you know that the heat tape is functioning properly when plugged in. The GlowCap on my 150' tape developed a crack, the cause is unknown but could have been from an owl or other animal, or possibly from a deep freeze. I contacted Radiant Solutions Company, explained the problem, provided photos, and in three days I had a replacement tape. Customer service was knowledgable, personable and professional! A lot of companies provide great products, but not all companies provide great customer service. Radiant Solutions Company is one that provides both. I was not compensated to provide this review, but I do think it is important to recognize exceptionalism whenever I come across it.

Working well so far, pipes did not freeze since applying.
Worked well in for a prolonged cold snap / polar vortex. We had a new HVAC unit installed over the summer. Never had any problems with the condensate line freezing before, but the flex pipe they used on the new install froze up the first time we hit 18F for 10 hours. Originally, I had planned on using their Pipe Freeze product, but after speaking with their US based customer service, they suggested this product because the Pipe Freeze product wasn't wet-rated and wasn't to be used on flex pipe. This product was a bit more expensive, but still cheaper than a call to the HVAC company. Planned the install, upgraded the available outlet to a GFCI, affixed heat tape with 3M fiberglass tape, covered heat tape with aluminum tape as suggested in the manual, and finally covered that with rubber pipe insulation. I also added the optional thermostat accessory which turns on the tape at the appropriate temperatures. Result: No freezing after a prolonged period in single digit temps. It's true that it doesn't give off much heat if you touch it, but it does the job when applied correctly.

We have a 1:12 slope roof and there is almost no insulation in the (uphill) roof of the original part of the house. The snow melts and trickles down to the well insulated part. We used to get massive icicles that looked like they would tear the corner of the house off. These are the first cables strong enough to keep a path melted so the water gets to the ground. See the 8' stalagmite from one of the loops. Excellent product.

I installed this on an apartment building roof and down the gutters where excess heat was creating problematic ice melt. The ice melt overwhelms the gutters, creates ice damming (which can damage the roof) and also results in a vertical frozen waterfall that reaches three floors down by early spring. The original solution was to renovate that part of the building to mitigate the loss of heat. This heat tape took care of the rest. Combined with a thermostat, the heat tape is working perfectly. The thermostat turns it on at 5C and there's no icicles hanging from the roof anymore.

With a low-slope roof, we depend on having good quality heating cables in our 7 downspouts. Over time, the ones provided by our builder are failing. I ordered 2 replacements from Radiant Solutions and they are absolutely superb quality. I can easily see these lasting far beyond the life span of the builder's cables. The fact that the connections are done at the factory, instead of after market, makes them far less likely to fail. The thickness of the cables is also superior to others we've seen. The glow of the plug and the light at the end of the cable, make it easy to see when we've turned them on. Very happy with this product and will do our best to only use this company's heating cables in future.

I've used this for three winters now and have not had any further problems with ices dams in my rain gutter or roof. Highly recommended.

After speaking with the vendor, and prior to installing a previously purchased item (the Heat Cable for Pipe Freeze Protection, with Built-in Thermostat) the vendor recommended I return the Heat Cable for Pipe Freeze Protection with the built-in Thermostat and instead purchase the Heat Tape Pro as I did not require the Thermostatic control. Consequently, even before I returned the Heat Cable, the Heat Tape Pro was sent out. It was installed but has yet to see a cold season. However, I suspect it will work as intended. The two things that matter most to me, are the build quality - rated excellent, and the responsiveness of the vendor - also rated excellent. I do not suspect any problems with Ice this year, and if there are, I'm sure the vendor will assist. Update: Gone thru my first winter! My freezing problem did NOT rear its ugly head this year. No Ice! This tape worked perfectly. Highly recommended and great vendor support
