Will this cut a puppy's hair around his ear? My puppy doesn't care for the clippers just yet.

I would say no. I couldn't get it to remove any hair on my cat, who is a long hair persian type. No matter how I held it, it wouldn't cut. I wound up just using scissors to trim her. Hope this helps.

How do you use it for split end trims?

My hair has a natural curl. I use it to trim and thin out my hair. There are two sides to the blade and one cuts more than the other so until you get us d to it, I would recommend starting with the blade that cuts less. I have no idea about split ends and you would probably be better off with scissors for the split ends. But I love this product; it works well for me.

I have naturally thin hair but want to take care of my damaged ends myself, is this the tool for that?

I use this tool to cut my dogs hair. But, I think you could try it. Just go very slowly cuz the razors are sharp. Be careful if you hair is thin, it would be easy to over cut. My hair is also thin so I “get it”.
